SEAN Dyche hailed his trio of strikers after Sam Vokes' goal against West Ham on the final day of the season took them to a combined 28 for the season.

Vokes, Andre Gray and Ashley Barnes all started between 20 and 26 times in the Premier League this season in what has been a collective effort from the front three.

Barnes ended the season with six goals, all in the top flight, while Gray hit 10, with nine in the league, and Vokes' final day flourish saw him finish as top scorer with 12, 10 of which came in the Premier League.

Dyche praised the Wales international's finish to the season as he scored five in his final give games to claim the top goalscorer honour and hit his target of double figures in the top flight, having never scored a Premier League goal before the start of this season.

"He's delivered again, nicked himself a goal, and he's had a good finish to the season," the Clarets chief said.

"Generally he's had a good season. Through the ins and outs and ups and downs, these players have overall had some really strong seasons.

"It's unlikely you come into the Premier League, some for the second time in three years, and are brilliant every week. You're playing against a different level."

Gray could also have ended the season with a goal, but he missed two good first half chances to also reach double figures in the league.

Dyche felt his side could have been out of sight against the Hammers had the chances been taken, but generally he has been happy with his sharp shooters in front of goal this season.

"The game should have been done at half-time," he said. "But on other occasions we've taken those chances, scored important goals, and when you don't take chances, guess what, the other team are decent, and have a chance to take theirs.

"You have to be clinical in both boxes, and overall we've done enough to make sure."

The Burnley boss was pleased that his three front line strikers had all contributed during the season as they shared the limelight.

There have been spells during the campaign when the combinations in attack have changed, with Vokes and Gray starting off together in a two, before Vokes led the line on his own while Gray was banned for four games.

When Gray returned he and Barnes took over in the winter and in recent weeks it has been Vokes and Barnes causing havoc for defences.

"Double figures for Sam, which is great, and the three strikers have done well, they've all pitched in," Dyche said.

"Andre is learning, progressing, it's his first season, he had a lot going on with the ban, a lot to take in, Vokesey slightly older and wiser, patchy during the season but finished strong, and Barnesy got his rewards at times and worked hard for the team.

"I could list every player, how they've gone through the season."
