CLARETS captain Tom Heaton said his player of the year award was an 'immensely proud moment' for him.

The 31-year-old scooped the honour - as voted for by the club's fans - at the annual Player of the Year night at Turf Moor.

Heaton has been in fine form for Burnley this season, keeping 10 clean sheets in the Premier League and making a string of stunning saves, with his stop from Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford voted Match of the Day's save of the season this weekend.

The awards night was the biggest Burnley have held, with over 750 guests in attendance, and Heaton hailed the support throughout the season after picking up his award.

"The support has been superb and thanks to them," he said.

"It's an immensely proud moment and fantastic to be part of what we've achieved this season.

"I love being part of it. It's been great to stay in the Premier League and we want to build on it and go forward from here."

Heaton's fellow England international Michael Keane was also amongst the winners on Sunday night, voted players' player of the year, an award won by his central defensive colleague Ben Mee a year ago.

The 24-year-old said it was an honour to have received recognition from the dressing room.

"It’s an honour to be voted by the players. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision. A lot of others would have deserved it," he said.

"Playing regular Premier League football, alongside the defenders we have here, with Heats behind me and the gaffer pushing me on, I think I have improved a lot.

"It’s been an unbelievable first season back in the Premier League."

Midfielder Jeff Hendrick won the goal of the season award on a night when the Clarets celebrated confirmation of their place in the Premier League next season, earning back-to-back seasons in the top flight for the first time since 1975.

His stunning strike in the 3-2 win over Bournemouth in December topped a poll of supporters' taken on the night.

Sam Vokes and Andre Gray were pictured together with the top goalscorer award, with their battle for the trophy set to go down to the final game of the season.

Vokes' goal at Bournemouth on Saturday took him to 11 in all competitions, one ahead of Gray.

The youth team player of the year award, decided by Under-18 boss Michael Duff and his staff, went to defender Oliver Younger.

There were also centurion awards for those Burnley players who have hit milestone games this season, with Vokes and Mee passing 200, while Keane and Boyd made it to 100.
