ROBBIE Brady insists Burnley have 'plenty left in the tank' for the final four games of the Premier League campaign.

The Clarets are looking to secure survival between now and the end of May and they head to Crystal Palace this weekend with a five-point gap to the bottom three.

Despite a run of just one win in 11 league games Burnley are still in prime position to land a second successive season in the top flight.

Record signing Brady said he felt fit when he arrived at Turf Moor at the end of January and he believes the squad are in good shape entering the final weeks of the season.

“I was playing in the Championship at the start of the season when there’s games every couple of days so I felt fit coming in," the 25-year-old said.

“The way they do things here is very good on the fitness side of things so the lads have plenty in the tank and a lot more to come between now and the end of the season."

Brady was a £13million addition from Norwich City in the January transfer window. He made an impressive start to his Clarets career with a stunning free-kick on his home debut against Chelsea but admitted he hadn't been disappointed with his early displays.

But the Republic of Ireland international has returned to the team in recent weeks and has started the last three league games.

“I’m settling in well. These things take time, just getting to know how the lads play," Brady said before Sunday's game with Manchester United.

"I was disappointed with the first few games. When you first come in you want to do your best and give your best but sometimes that doesn’t go.

"That was the case for me. I found it difficult in the first few weeks showing what I was all about.

"But as the weeks have gone on I have settled in, I feel more relaxed and I am enjoying my football.

"I think you’ll find most of the lads are their own worst critic.

"You want to do well and things weren’t going as well as I thought they could.

"I was happy with the goal (against Chelsea). I haven’t got one since then but hopefully I will get a couple more before the end of the season."

Brady had plenty of familiar faces in the Turf Moor dressing room when he signed, with Tom Heaton and Michael Keane former youth colleagues at Manchester United and Jeff Hendrick and Stephen Ward teammates at international level.

Brady and Hendrick are close friends, having grown up together and played for Dublin youth club St Kevin's Boys, and the former Hull City man said the presence of Hendrick had helped him settle in.

"It’s easier when you have someone you know when you come," he said. "He was a factor in me coming here, he explained the place and I trusted him on it and I’m happy.

“Him and Wardy have made it that bit easier (to settle)."
