MATCH of the Day pundits Jermaine Jenas and Alan Shearer praised the quality of Michael Keane’s finish against Hull City.

Both Jenas and Shearer were impressed with Keane’s chest control and thumping finish past Eldin Jakupovic to earn the Clarets a point.

But Jenas also felt Keane had been correctly penalised for a handball that gave Hull the lead from the penalty spot.

“It was a crazy five minutes for him in what was quite a dull game,” Jenas said as he analysed the 1-1 draw.

“He got a push in the back, I don't think it was that much of a push, not enough to stick his hand out the way he did.

“His hand comes out, the ball is about to hit Maguire’s head so he’s probably stopping a Hull player getting on the ball.

“His hand makes clear contact, it’s the right decision from Martin Atkinson to give the penalty. Tom Huddlestone steps up and squeezes it into the bottom corner.”

But within four minutes Keane had gone down the other end to level the scores from Robbie Brady’s corner kick.

“His twin brother Will will be proud of his defensive brother’s quality to bring that down on his chest and stick it in the back of the net, it’s a fantastic finish,” added Jenas.

“He got his team back in the game ended a run of defeats away from home.”

Shearer added of Keane’s equaliser: “It’s a very, very good finish.”
