IT’S no secret that Burnley have their outstanding home form to thank for their relatively comfortable mid table position in the Premier League this season, writes Toby Wilding.

Indeed, 29 of Burnley’s 30 league points this season have been taken at Turf Moor, with their sole away point coming courtesy of a goalless draw at Manchester United.

It means that while Sean Dyche’s men would sit fourth in the Premier League if only results from home games counted, they would find themselves bottom of the table on away form alone.

This weekend however could be the perfect opportunity for Burnley to finally record that elusive first away win of the season, as they travel to the KCOM Stadium to face relegation threatened Hull City.

Burnley have won five of their last six trips to Hull, there only defeat in that run coming in a 3-0 reverse on Boxing Day last season, in what was the Clarets last league loss of that campaign as they stormed to the Championship title.

When the sides met at Turf Moor earlier on the season, a stoppage time Robert Snodgrass free kick cancelled out Steven Defour’s opener to earn a late point for Hull in a 1-1 draw.

That result had seen the Tigers sit seventh in the table after four games, but that early season promise soon faded as Hull slipped down the table into the relegation places.

Hull have seen something of a resurgence since the appointment of Marco Silva as manager, but Burnley boss Sean Dyche will himself be desperate to bounce back following last weekend’s shock defeat at the hands of Lincoln City in the FA Cup.

While Burnley look set to avoid relegation from the Premier League for the first time in three attempts, just five of their remaining thirteen games this season will take place at Turf Moor, which means they have less home game than any other Premier League side, so they may yet need some away wins, and given their record there in recent years, Hull may be the perfect place to start.
