I think we need to be targeting as many points as possible to secure safety but at the very least, the 11 points needed to get us to that 40 point mark.

Swansea and Hull seem to have started picking up points recently and with our run of away games coming up, the nine point gap that is currently between us and the bottom three might not be as great.

Overlooking the Chelsea game, we should be looking for our first away win at Hull at the end of the month.

I would like the Clarets to get to that 40 points mark so we need at least three more wins to achieve that goal. March will be crucial as we have no home games and if the same away pattern continues we could potentially be looking over our shoulders when the Spurs game comes around in April at Turf Moor.

If we can pull off a victory against Chelsea on Sunday then for the first time in my generation of watching Burnley I guarantee that this team will get the remaining points to stay in the top division.

I’ll be happy if/when we can get to 38 points as I think that will be plenty to keep you in the league.

I’ve a feeling 35 might do it this season but obviously it would be nice if we could get to 38/40 as soon as possible.

We have the bottom four to play away from home so I’d like to think we could pick some away points up against those teams and continue to pick up points at home.
