ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger has hailed Burnley's form in the first half of the Premier League season as 'absolutely unbelievable'.

The Clarets head to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday (2.15pm) in the top half of the Premier League table, with a 10-point gap to the bottom three.

Sean Dyche's side have won eight games at Turf Moor but they have just one point on the road in the league this season, a record they will be determined to build on in north London.

But Wenger has played down Burnley's search for a winning formula away from home, and instead praised their season overall and the stunning form at Turf Moor.

"Everybody questions that every week and then they play at home and they basically beat everybody there," Wenger said of the Clarets. "It’s what they’ve repeated for 20 games, it’s not a coincidence and every time you see them play at home against a big team you think 'this time they might not do it' and they do it [almost] every time. That is just down to quality."

Arsenal are one of only three teams to win in East Lancashire this season, but Laurent Koscielny's winner with the last action of the game came with more than a hint of controversy.

Wenger believes the atmosphere at Turf Moor has played a key part in Burnley's success there, and admits his side face a tough test on Sunday.

"There is a special atmosphere [at Turf Moor], they certainly have the needed confidence - they are very efficient at home," he said. "They know very well what to do at home, they defend very well and they do not concede goals.

"They are a top-10 team in the first part of the league, so what they have done is absolutely unbelievable so we have to make sure they do not find a solution away from home on Sunday because it is a big game for us and we have to prepare well. Even away from home recently they were a bit unlucky in some games."
