JOHANN Berg Gudmundsson and Scott Arfield are unlikely to make their return from injury in tomorrow’s FA Cup replay against Sunderland.

Both wide players suffered hamstring injuries in the first tie against the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.

But Dean Marney is set to be available, having limped off during the 1-0 win over Southampton at the weekend.

“The two lads with hamstrings, Johann and Scotty Arfield, I doubt if they’ll make tomorrow,” said Dyche.

“They’re going along nicely and they’re settling down quickly, but I don’t think they’ll make tomorrow.

“Everyone else is OK. Marns came off the other day, but we think he’s settled down again, so we think he’ll be OK.”

Dyche is likely to again make changes for the cup replay, having given fringe players such as Nick Pope, Tendayi Darikwa and James Tarkowski a chance in the north east just over a week ago.

“I enjoyed the performance in the first game,” said Dyche. “A lot was made of it by other people, saying it was a quiet performance and not a good game, etc, etc. But I was pleased with my players. I enjoyed the performance. I think we certainly made enough chances to win the game. We didn’t, so now we’ve got to try to do it again.

“If I make changes I believes in the squad, and I feel there’s a depth to our squad now, better than  we’ve had in the past.

“So when you think that we’ve made changes with Joey Barton, Steven Defour, James Tarkowski and the like, I don’t think we’re trying to disrespect anyone. I think they’re very good players.”

Dyche also had his day on speculation linking the Clarets with a move for Norwich City wide man Robbie Brady.

The Clarets chief said: “We’ve been linked with so many. It’s every year. It’s either someone linking us with one of our players going out, or one coming in. We just try to do our business as respectfully as we can.”
