A NEW report in the finances of European football clubs carried out by UEFA has placed Burnley in the top 10 clubs in Europe for profits.

The European Footballing Landscape report covers a range of issue on the game, including the financial state of clubs for the financial year which ended in April 2015.

That covers the Clarets last Premier League season and their operating profit quoted of €54m places them 10th in Europe, with an operating profit margin of 52 per cent is the highest of the top 20 clubs.

In terms of operating profit that places Burnley fifth in England, behind Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, while Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Juventus, Barcelona and Zenit St Petersburg are the only European clubs above them.

Burnley are fifth in Europe for net profit for the 2015 financial year with a total of €40m. That is only behind Liverpool, Newcastle United, Real Madrid and Leicester City.

Operating profit only covers the gross profit, minus direct operating expenses for the company while net profit includes all gains and losses by the company, including tax payments. Operating profits do not cover taxes paid, company assets sold or expenses not related to the company's operating costs.
