WITH their away form continuing to pose them problems, Burnley will be grateful for some home comforts between now and the New Year as they welcome Bournemouth, Middlesbrough and Sunderland to Turf Moor.

Having already beaten Liverpool, Everton, Watford and Crystal Palace at home this season the Clarets will be determined to add to that list and make sure they are banking points in front of their own fans.

With a capital double header next week at West Ham and Tottenham, the upcoming trio of home games, beginning with the return of Eddie Howe to Turf Moor with Bournemouth on Saturday, have taken a crucial look as Sean Dyche’s side look to stay clear of the bottom three heading into 2017.

Clarets ever-present Michael Keane wants to see Burnley turn their away form around, but he knows how important these home fixtures are.

“They’re big games,” he said of the triple-header that will close 2016 for Burnley.

“We obviously need to pick up our away form.

“But the home games against teams like that, who are going to be around us, are vital.

“Our home form’s been really good, so we’ll be looking to continue that.”

Burnley have collected 13 of their 14 points this season at Turf Moor, as well scoring 11 of their 12 goals at home.

The defeat at Stoke City last weekend made it five defeats from six on the road with 15 goals conceded, but Keane is adamant there isn’t a great deal of difference between playing at home or away.

“No, there’s not really. When you’re on the pitch, you don’t think about it,” he said.

“We go into every game treating it exactly the same. Maybe it’s a bit of a mentality thing once you concede a goal, but we changed that (at Stoke).

“I don’t think our heads dropped at all. I think we just need to carry that on.

“I think if we keep performing like we did, especially in the second half, we will start to pick up points.

“We’ve been a bit unlucky with the goals we’ve conceded, but you can’t complain about those things.

“You just hope that something will fall for us in the coming weeks and I am sure the results will turn.”
