A MINOR calf injury has forced Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton to pull out of the England squad.
The Clarets captain returned north on Sunday night and will not travel to Slovenia with the rest of the squad today.
It is understood he suffered a calf injury in training with the Three Lions. It is unclear whether he will be fit in time to face Southampton at St Mary's on Sunday.
Heaton, who has started 137 consecutive league games for the Clarets, has been replaced in the squad by Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The 30-year-old, who has one England cap to his name, was an unused substitute at Wembley on Saturday as Gareth Southgate’s reign began with a 2-0 win over Malta.
