BURNLEY will inherit their pre-season training facilities in Evian-les-Bains from world champions Germany.

Joachim Loew’s side have been staying in a different hotel to the one the Clarets will be using from Monday, July 11 to Saturday, July 16, but the Germans have been training at the Stade Camille Fournier facilities throughout the tournament.

The small stadium is the same facility used by Burnley during last summer’s pre-season camp and they will once again be training there during their stay in the picturesque town on the French-Swiss border.

Germany have been staying at the Hotel Ermitage in Evian, but that is not the hotel the Clarets will be using.

Die Mannschaft arrived in Evian on June 7 and are still training at Stade Camille Fournier this week as they prepare for Saturday’s quarter-final against Italy.

The Euro 2016 final takes place the day before Burnley arrive for their pre-season training camp, but if Germany reach the final they will have already moved out of their base to Paris ahead of the Sunday night fixture.

Last summer was the first time Burnley had been to Evian in pre-season, and boss Sean Dyche was pleased with the facilities on offer.

“We’ve tried to freshen it up really instead of going to the same place year on year,” he said on the first day of the tour last year.

“We’ve had a couple of good tours since I’ve been at the club and we felt this was a very good place.

“I came over here with John Banaszkiewicz, who showed me a few different places and we assessed what we could do with the squad. The hotel is very good and the training pitches are very good as well so our first impressions are excellent if I’m honest.”

The Stade Camille Fournier training ground is 1,000 metres from the hotel Germany have been staying at during the European Championships.

Germany’s team director Oliver Bierhoff said when announcing Evian as the national team’s base: “Compactness and short distances are important for us when picking the location, and we want to keep these parameters.

“After travelling up and down the country in the last months, and looking at various options, we finally found what we were looking for in Evian.

“At the Hotel Ermitage we have excellent conditions to be able to work, train and recover in peace.

“Lake Geneva and the Alps both offer an impressive panorama, the proximity to the town of Évian and the possibilities for the media who accompany us are also added bonuses.”

The town has proved to be a popular base for sides to use during pre-season, with Lyon and Mainz also based there that summer.

Later in July Burnley’s Premier League rivals Sunderland will also be training in Evian and they will play Stade Nyonnais and Dijon at Stade Camille Fournier.

The Clarets also play Stade Nyonnais, but they will be crossing Lake Geneva on Friday, July 15, to play them at their Stade de Colovray ground (kick-off 6.30pm UK time).
