BURNLEY have offered out-of-contract goalkeeper Paul Robinson a new deal, but Matty Taylor, Matt Gilks and Lloyd Dyer are all leaving the club.

The Clarets have released their retained list, which also confirms they have offered a new deal to Joey Barton, who continues to be the subject of interest from Rangers.

Robinson joined Burnley in January as goalkeeping cover after an injury to Gilks, and although he didn't get any playing time as he deputised for Tom Heaton, he has done enough to be offered a new deal for next season.

Goalkeeper Matt Gilks has been told his two-year Turf Moor stay has come to an end though, while winger Lloyd Dyer, who made three substitute appearances after signing in February, hasn't had his short-term deal renewed either.

Taylor is the only other first team player to have been released. The 34-year-old made 27 Championship appearances this season, although 26 were off the bench, and scored four goals.

Michael Duff is also out of contract but the defender has already announced his playing retirement and he is taking up a coaching role with the club's Under-18s.

"There are always tough decisions to make at the end of every season," said Burnley boss Sean Dyche.

"But in football you have to keep moving forwards and on behalf of everyone at the football club, I would like to thank the players leaving us for all their efforts and professionalism.

"We wish them well in their careers elsewhere and we look forward to working again with those who will remain at Turf Moor."

Young goalkeeper Danijel Nizic and striker Jason Gilchrist have also been released.

Goalkeeper Tony Aghayere, who spent the end of the campaign on loan at Colne, and striker Khius Metz, have both accepted contract extensions to become third year scholars.
