SEAN Dyche intends to speak to the board at Turf Moor to finalise spending plans for the summer as the Clarets seek survival in the Premier League next season.

Victory over Queens Park Rangers on Monday secured Burnley a third Premier League campaign in seven years and now the challenge of staying there begins.

In the 2014/15 top flight campaign Burnley spent around £10million on George Boyd, Lukas Jutkiewicz, Michael Keane, Michael Kightly, Stephen Ward and Marvin Sordell.

After pocketing the Premier League cash they spent more in this successful Championship season, including £6m on top scorer Andre Gray and £3m on James Tarkowski, while Rouwen Hennings, Matt Lowton, Chris Long and Tendayi Darikwa also arrived on fees.

There will be money to spend again this summer, with Burnley heading into the top flight debt free and guaranteed at least £120m from a season at the highest level, but Clarets chief Dyche insisted the club would not overstretch itself and take financial risks.

“We’ll try to shift it forward, but this club still has a level, simple as that,” he said. “The money will be massive for the club and the area, but it still has a level.

“That makes the challenge enormous.

"Everyone else is spending it as well, so you’ve shifted to there, and the market has shifted to there as well.

"You’ve got to try and get part of that market, which is very difficult.

“If you look at Eddie Howe, who’s done a brilliant job at Bournemouth, they’ve spent £42m; we spent £10m last time in the Premier League.

“It’s a massive difference, and the wages that go with it.

“I’ll be speaking to the board and asking what we can do to make a go of it.”

The signings made this season have played a key role in the Clarets’ promotion, and Dyche added: “Recruitment is a difficult business. There’s no guarantees but it’s fair to say we’ve recruited very well.

“What people forget, off the pitch we’ve balanced the books. We’ve brought in as much as we’ve spent, and not many in the Championship are doing that."
