BURNLEY paid £312,988 in agents’ fees between October 1, 2015 and February 1, 2016.

Figures released by the FA, under FIFA rules, show that the Clarets are the 10th highest spenders on agents in the Championship during that four-month period.

QPR stumped up £1,002,232 with the next highest amount being the £740,789 shelled out by Hull City.

Burnley’s promotion rivals Middlesbrough spent £340,395 on intermediaries, while Brighton spent £216,778.

Only three clubs, Birmingham City (£46,000), Bolton Wanderers (£54,867) and Rotherham United (£63,850), handed over less than £100,000 to agents.

Payments included in the figures released by the FA may have been made in respect of transactions entered into prior to April 1, 2015.

During the period of October 1, 2015, to February 1, 2016 Burnley signed James Tarkowski from Brentford and Lloyd Dyer and Paul Robinson on free transfers.

In total Championship clubs spent just short of £7million on agents in that period.

Burnley were also behind Cardiff City (£542,546), Nottingham Forest (£485,954), Bristol City (£371,850), Reading (£327,390), Derby County (£323,076) and Fulham (£316,655).
