IT could be another famous night at Deepdale for Burnley fans on Friday but the Sherpa Van Trophy Northern Final second leg from 1988 will take some beating.
After a 0-0 draw at Turf Moor the Lancashire rivals met in Preston with a place in the Wembley final on the line.
The then Fourth Division Clarets were the outsiders on this April night against their Third Division opponents.
But they were roared on by a magnificent away following who nearly took the roof off the away end as the Clarets reached Wembley just 12 months after they had needed a final-day win over Leyton Orient to preserve their Football League status.
George Oghani put Burnley ahead but Gary Brazil equalised for Preston and sent the tie into extra-time.
Three minutes into the first period Ashley Hoskin scored at the second attempt and as favourites PNE chased the game Paul Comstive struck to send the away end delirious.
