ROUWEN HENNINGS

THE German striker is still adapting to the English game but showed some good touches against Brighton on Sunday.

Probably just needs a goal to give his progress and confidence an extra boost, and he came close to getting it with an instinctive half volley from winger George Boyd’s cross, kept out only by the quick reactions of David Stockdale.

ANDRE GRAY

MISSED out on setting a new record of home braces but continued his Turf Moor scoring streak from the penalty spot.

However, this was one of those occasions where he showed there is more to his game than just scoring goals as he was involved in creating plenty for his strike partners and wide men.

He’s taken all the headlines this season but the Championship leading scorer and club record signing is very much a team player.

TOUGH AT THE TOP

Burnley and Brighton both showed why they are competing in the higher echelons in a tightly fought contest.

Neither team moved from their pre-match positions, with the Clarets slipping to fifth on goal difference following the Saturday games.

But, 17 games in, there is no team running away with it yet.

Three teams locked on 33 points from third down to fifth, with Burnley among them while the top two of Hull and Brighton both have 35 points.

Burnley just have to keep up the good work, and keep in there.
