I KNOW a bit about Brighton, being my hometown team, and Sunday is going to be a tough game against a side which has yet to taste defeat this season.

They remind me of Burnley in one sense because they are a well-oiled outfit.

A well-organised team can go a long way in this division and Brighton are one of the surprise packages.

But there are no real superstars; there isn’t one man to stop and no-one to fear. And they have not come up against a strike pairing like Andre Gray and Sam Vokes yet.

Hopefully the international break came at the right time for Sam to get a bit of rest.

He has put a lot of 90-minute shifts in so he has had to step up and you do get a bit of tiredness and strains here and there. They are going to come eventually.

Hopefully he’s had the opportunity to rest those groin strains and strengthen the area and get back to full fitness, then we can get the ball into him and Andre and really trouble the Seagulls defence.

Andre wants to constantly play on the shoulder and Scott Arfield is constantly looking for him from midfield.

The only thing that concerns me is if Brighton were to drop deep, have Burnley got a plan B?

But I still expect Burnley to do well at home.

On the international front it’s been a good week for Stephen Ward, qualifying for Euro 2016 with the Republic of Ireland.

The dilemma for him is, with not playing regularly for Burnley, will that scupper his chances of making his national squad?

That might mean he has a decision to make in January about whether he stays and fights for his place or looks for a move elsewhere to get first team football and boost his Euro chances.
