THE international week has started with talk of Sunderland renewing their interest in our manager Sean Dyche.

For me, and I’m sure all other Clarets fans, it is imperative we keep hold of the gaffer.

MORE TOP STORIES:

This man is the heartbeat of Burnley Football Club and if we were to lose him it would surely see the club drop into dire straits.

He has done a tremendous job and has turned this club around. Look at where we were last season and where we are in the table now.

This is all down to Sean Dyche. He has got the players playing for him, which is a big task.

With the success he’s had it’s only natural clubs will be interested in him, but we need to make sure he remains ours.

I don’t think Liverpool will be going for him, but I’m sure Sean will be disappointed with the decision to sack his friend Brendan Rodgers. I can’t believe he has lost his job there.

Meanwhile, I was still laughing when I read Dave Burnley’s column on Thursday. He was going to New York.

It’s a place I want to go to but my wife keeps saying it is a very busy place to visit and it would not do my hips any good.

Then I realised Dave was talking about Rotherham’s ground. Well, we got there and earned a great three points thanks to Andre Gray and Sam Vokes.

The team has finally settled down and it’s good to see Andre and Sam combining into a good strike force.

Also, let’s not forget the transformation Scott Arfield has had since he got back to the position he is best in.

Joey Barton is doing a great job in midfield. I don’t care about his bad boy reputation. He has impressed me so much and I’m sure he is already a candidate for player of the season.

Since the start he has impressed me with his temperament, which he has had to control after his bad old days.

I also feel, as an ex-striker myself, that Vokes and Gray have put it together and they can help take us back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

With the squad we have on our books I feel the club owe it to all their fans.

These fans are the very best in the country and follow them religiously, and to disappoint the fans would be heartbreaking.

I myself am a Clarets fan and I feel so emotional when they lose, but this season is so different.

I will finish with sincere congratulations to Tom Heaton, and former Claret Danny Ings, on their call-up to the England squad. Well done boys and good luck.
