THERE have been a few talking points this week, but for me the biggest is Joey Barton. He has to start tonight.

Even if he only lasts 60 or 70 minutes he has to be in the line-up from the off because I thought he was fantastic when he came on last Saturday.

MORE TOP STORIES:

He didn’t just lift the place, he lifted the team. He just livens everything up, and it was good to get Scott Arfield back out on the wing.

It will be interesting to see who misses out if he does come in, because I don’t think either Michael Kightly or George Boyd have been on top of their game yet this season.

We need to get them back firing on all cylinders and Barton could be the man to do that.

The manager might even look to bring in Matt Lowton and put Tendayi Darikwa on the right wing and get that threat going forward because pace is massive.

To go along with Andre Gray, if he is fit, all of a sudden you think ‘this could look all right’.

It’s a very winnable game at Rotherham, although the timing of Steve Evans going is awful.

He’s a ‘Marmite’ sort of manager and a few of those players weren’t big fans. His departure might give them a massive lift and that’s not helpful for Burnley.

But knowing Sean Dyche he won’t care what the other team does; he’ll just focus on Burnley and our strengths.

Rotherham are near the bottom for a reason so the Clarets should go there with a lot of confidence and take that into the game.

Tom Heaton will be on cloud nine with another England call-up. It’s fantastic for him, he’s a great goalkeeper and the best in the league by a mile, but from a selfish point of view I’d rather he wasn’t there because the attention will be on him all the time.

It’s the same with our manager after he was linked with Sunderland, but he’s better off where he is!
