MICHAEL Duff celebrated a clean sheet on his testimonial, as Burnley rounded off their pre-season friendly programme with a 2-0 win over Bradford City.
The Clarets took the lead through Lukas Jutkiewicz just after the half-hour, firing low across first-half goalkeeper Ben Williams following good work by Ben Mee and Michael Kightly in the build-up.
Matt Taylor added the second with a fiercely struck free kick, moments after replacing the injured Fredrik Ulvestad.
The midfielder had only been on the pitch for less than four minutes when he overstretched for a midfield challenge after the whistle had gone for an earlier foul.
Ulvestad was carried to the tunnel on a stretcher as the game carried on.
It was a sour note on an otherwise positive day for the Clarets, just a week before Second half substitute Sam Vokes went close to adding a third, before man of the moment Duff went off to a standing ovation.
Duff thanked supporters after the game, saying: “It was a good win, clean sheet so I’m happy.
"I’d like to thank everyone for turning out. I fully appreciate your support for 11 years, hopefully it will be 12.
"It’s been a fantastic day.
"I’m pleased it was a win and I didn’t have a nightmare and concede too many goals.”
