A statement said: "Burnley Football Club has entered into an agreement to sign striker Jelle Vossen from Belgian Pro League side Koninklijke Racing Club Genk, subject to the player agreeing contractual terms and passing a medical.

"A three-year deal for an undisclosed fee has been agreed between the two clubs for the 26-year-old."

Vossen is a Belgian international and spent last season on loan in the Championship with Middlesbrough.

He had previously scored 105 times in 244 appearances for Genk. Vossen will become the first ever Belgian to pull on the Burnley shirt in a competitive game.

The only other Belgian player to play for the Clarets was Dimitri De Conde, Genk's current technical director, who played as a trialist in the Isle of Man tournament prior to the 2001/2002 season.
