SEAN Dyche takes his squad to Spain today vowing that Burnley will be ready to bounce back from Saturday’s loss at Southampton when they return to England.

The Clarets were beaten 2-0 at St Mary’s on Saturday to leave them inside the Premier League relegation zone with eight games remaining.

The international break now means that Burnley do not have a match until Tottenham visit Turf Moor on April 5, so Dyche has opted to take his squad abroad for a training camp this week to aid their preparations for the run-in.

Danny Ings, Sam Vokes, Michael Keane and Stephen Ward are on international duty so will miss the camp, but Dyche thinks the trip to Spain will be a hugely valuable experience following the Southampton loss.

“We’ve been dented a few times but we’ll be ready to go again, make no mistake,” he said.

“We’ll get a few days away but they’ll be training days, then they’ll get a couple of days next weekend to rest.

“They will be work days, we’ve got bit games coming up so it’s important that the players are fit and ready.

“As you saw again on Saturday, the energy was outstanding, the will and the belief to effect the game no matter what.

“That’s how we play. At 2-0 down there was no giving up.”

Burnley have back-to-back home games against north London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal to end a sequence of eight consecutive matches against teams in the top half of the Premier League.

The Clarets have been beaten by Manchester United, Swansea, Liverpool and Southampton but drew at Chelsea and beat Manchester City.

“We’re coming out of a really tough run of games, everyone has been speaking about it,” Dyche said.

“Bearing in mind most thought we’d get no points out of that run, well we’re on four and there’s a couple more to come so let’s see what we get from them.”

Dyche remains confident that his side can stay in the top flight.

“I’ve never been not confident,” he said.

“You’ve got to remember that about three-and-a-half seconds after we got promoted they said we’ve got no chance next year. But we’re in there fighting.

“People keep writing about this struggling Burnley, but I don’t know what they’re thinking about, how are we struggling? We’re in the Premier League, people thought we’d have nothing and need snookers at Christmas.

“There’s no struggle for us other than our own personal one where we think we’ve deserved more, we want more, we’re hungry for more and we’ll be giving everything to remain in the Premier League, I can assure you of that.

“Our journey is a different one, it’s only about remaining in the Premier League so the challenge is to get enough points to do that.”

Southampton keeper Fraser Forster was stretchered off on Saturday with a knee injury and swiftly pulled out of the England squad.

That led to brief suggestions that Burnley’s Tom Heaton could be called up, something that Dyche played down, and in fact it was QPR’s Robert Green who was drafted in late on Saturday night.
