TO GO to Stamford Bridge and come away with a point when all the odds were against the Clarets was a magnificent team effort.

The league leaders might have been thinking after going ahead in 14th minute that it was going to be easy. How wrong could they have been?

Sean Dyche has instilled a never say die attitude to his squad and Jose Mourinho could only speak in riddles at his post match interview.

He listed four numbers - minutes in which he said his Blues had been robbed. The Chelsea manager never gives the opposition any credit for their performance. Maybe that is because he only has eyes for Chelsea and can’t see beyond that.

My man of match was skipper Jason Shackell. He has been in outstanding form all season, but to be honest the whole team were all working for one another and really frustrated Chelsea.

I know Ashley Barnes put a tackle in on Nemanja Matic, who responded by pushing Barnes to the ground and got himself sent off.

I thought Ashley was fortunate not to get a booking.

Ben Mee’s late equaliser on 81 minutes was well deserved, and how the lads celebrated. That is Ben’s second league goal with a header.

I thought Martin Atkinson had a terrible game. He missed quite a lot of incidents.

The TV pundits gave Ashley a lot of stick for the tackle on Matic, but he is not a dirty player and on the day he led the line tremendously.

This point gives us confidence for the run-in to the end of the season.

We have gone to the big guns and come away with points, so let’s not be negative and keep on playing with the enthusiasm we showed at the league leaders.

It was a well deserved point. We’ve got to carry it on now.

The next game is a tough one. Swansea are on a good run and they are up there in the top half, but these are the types of games we have to go out and win at this stage of the season.

It’s all about taking chances. We’re looking good going forward and creating chances, but we need to be more ruthless in front of goal now to turn these performances into wins.

There is obviously a lot of belief in the squad, Sean has done a great job in getting that, and hopefully they can finish the job now.

Finally, I would like to mention the shocking scenes we saw on the news on the Paris Metro last week.

I’m sure all football fans have seen them and will be appalled by it.

Football is a sport for all, and the behaviour of some of those so-called fans in that incident was shocking and I hope we never see the likes of that again.
