Shackell missed out at White Hart Lane due to a tight calf after feeling the injury late on in the win over QPR but he did train yesterday and should return to the side in place of Michael Duff.

“Kieran came off with a tight hamstring but we’re expecting that to be ok,” said Dyche.

“Shacks has made reasonable progress and we’re expecting that to be ok.

“We think we got Kieran off straightaway more or less so we think that will be ok.”

Striker Sam Vokes completed his first 90 minutes since surgery on his cruciate knee ligament injury in the replay in north London.

“Vokesy was out for a warm down yesterday so he’s had no immediate reaction,” said Dyche. “We’re in pretty good shape at the moment.”

The Welsh striker has come off the bench three times in the Premier League since his nine-month spell on the sidelines ended in the Boxing Day defeat to Liverpool..

“A massive positive is to see someone like Sam go through what he has gone through and come out and play 90 minutes against Tottenham,” said Dyche.

“That’s a fantastic thing, he’ll get sharper, he’ll get fitter, he’ll get mentally more alert for that experience. It was fantastic to have him out there for 90 minutes.”
