DANNY Ings scoring two goals for England Under 21s will hopefully be just the tonic he needs to regain his confidence after his long layoff from injury.

To score at international level is a great boost for Danny and I'm sure he will begin to start scoring for the Clarets on a regular basis.

This is what we need to do if we want to get away from bottom place in the Premier League.

It’s not nice looking at the league table at the moment and I keep getting asked will we survive this season? Well of course we can and Danny finding his touch in the box again gives me high hopes.

I bet he was over the moon to score in front of his home crowd against Portugal. I think he will always remember the reception he received and it was well deserved.

Burnley are at Stoke this weekend and it is a tough test. I hope we can get the win but I would definitely take a point. You just want to be able to build on last weekend’s first win, and a point would do that.

My brother Bobby used to play in goal for Stoke and I remember scoring against him once at Turf Moor. I used to score against him quite regularly and I’ve never let him live it down.
