BURNLEY target Henri Lansbury has signed a new three-year contract with Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder had been the subject of a £3.5million bid from the Clarets, and early indications were that the former Arsenal man wanted to join the Premier League new boys.

But Forest were determined not to sell their star man, and set to work on negotiating new terms.

Manager Stuart Pearce this week spoke of his confidence that the 23-year-old would stay at the City Ground.

Lansbury has now put pen to paper on a new deal that will run to the end of the 2016/17 season, and is believed to have doubled his previous £8,000 a week salary.
