KIERAN Trippier will always feel privileged to have lined up against the great Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp, but he has warned his Burnley team-mates not to be in awe of Chelsea's stars tonight.

Trippier is set to play his first Premier League game when he lines up for the Clarets against Jose Mourinho's side at Turf Moor in front of the live Sky Sports cameras.

The task of keeping the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Andre Schurrle quiet will not be an easy one for Burnley, but Trippier does have some experience of facing the world's finest players.

In fact, he has faced arguably the greatest player of his generation, after coming on as a substitute for Manchester City in a friendly against Barcelona in the Nou Camp in 2009, when at the age of only 18 he shared the field with the legendary Messi.

"It was an honour to play against the best player ever, it was an unbelievable feeling and it will always live with me," said Trippier, now 23.

"It was when Mark Hughes was manager, the game was at the Camp Nou.

"We beat them 1-0, I was only a young lad then and I got about 20 minutes under my belt. I played right wing to be honest!

"But it was a great feeling for a young lad. I've always thanked Mark Hughes from that day for giving me the opportunity to play against the best player ever."

Trippier knows Burnley will face many star names in the top flight, but says they cannot spend too much time worrying about them.

"You’ve got Fabregas and a lot more but it doesn’t matter, we’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves," he said.

"We don’t want to look at the opposition because we know how good they are, we just want to focus on ourselves and get our tactics right for whoever we play.

"We’ve got a really good togetherness here and that can take you really far in this game."
