SEAN Dyche has insisted that Burnley will not be panicked into paying over the odds for targets just because the Premier League season is drawing near.

Dyche has suffered frustration in recent weeks as he attempts to add numbers to his squad ahead of the opening match in the top flight at home to Chelsea on August 18.

Burnley have seen three bids for centre back Craig Dawson turned down by West Bromwich Albion, while further attempts to bring in players have also been thwarted.

Dyche, though, insists the Clarets do not have the finances at their disposal to rush deals through and must continue to take a patient approach.

“We’re still looking to add to the group,” the Clarets boss said.

“There’s a few getting closer and closer and we’re working hard to get them over the line. The frustration is that for 18 months we had no real money to speak of that we could use in the market.

“Now we have got some money but the market is running away from us again because we have the smallest budget in the Premier League.

“There has to be a reality to our financial planning of course, so it’s difficult to just throw money at situations to get them over the line.

“We have to work within the market, keep nipping away at it and wait for things to develop rather than throwing massive money at situations to make them develop.

“We’ve got a wider scope for deals now for players, this is the Premier League, this is mind-blowing numbers for certain clubs.

“That’s the challenge, to formulate a group of players that can play with the quality and desire which we insist on to go and win football matches, and do it all within certain parameters and guidelines and the budgetary requirements of the club.”

The Clarets have already brought in Lukas Jutkiewicz, Marvin Sordell, Matt Taylor, Steven Reid and Matt Gilks, while Michael Kightly’s loan switch from Stoke City has been turned into a permanent deal.

But Burnley have also lost the likes of Junior Stanislas, Chris Baird, David Edgar and Keith Treacy this summer.

“The six who have come in really are against the four or so who went out, so the challenge is really the numbers game and the quality,” Dyche said.

“We still are short and the difference is in the Championship we all know you can go out and activate the loan system when the main window shuts.

“In the Premier League you can’t, so we definitely need bodies in.”

We also mustn't be held to ransom by clubs with expectations that have less to do with players' actual worth and are more about exploiting other clubs. There will be a huge number of clubs with players on 40-50 grand a week who never play a game. Patience is the key here, let's relax into it.

I agree but at the same time we must not lose focus on the targets Dyche wants to bring in. We are still short on numbers and having let 5 or 6 players go and so far only bringing in 6, we are still at the same level we were last season.
On another note it is quiet on here today from a certain individual, it must be giro day today.

Looks like we'll have to wait for someone without a club as no-one wants to join who already has a contract.
Is there enough time to sift through the dregs and then introduce said signings into the squad?. I suppose it doesn't really matter who, as they will all be england internationals by the time we win the champions league.
Can't wait to give Chelsea the biggest game of their lives and see duff with Drogba in his back pocket and Dave Jones turning Eden Hazard inside out.

Not beihg funny Claretcert but these players on 40-50 grand a week will still want 40-50 grand a week. Loan or buy players won't come cheap in the Prem.

No but as you know with Leon Best his 32K a week wages that he is reportedly on , 20K of that Blackburn are still paying, so with that in mind you could still get a player on huge wages but only be paying a fraction of it as the parent club want to release some of the money for themselves rather than have it tied up on a player who is going to be a bench warmer all season.

Is that what you do when you've filled your nappy?
Sack the board for not backing the manager. He'll be off as soon as the first club comes a sniffin unless we sign some cheques for his targets, just the same as Coyle, we have learnt nothing.

I don't think it's that simple mjp. Top clubs won't loan out players to other Prem clubs for peanuts. They aren't going to feel sorry for Burnley or anyone else who can't afford to buy them or even pay their wages.
You might have a better chance of picking up fringe / squad players whos parent clubs want to give them experience but 50 grand a week players I don't think so.

Maybe not but most premiership players, even fringe ones are on 10K upwards now at least. Even fringe players can turn out to be good ones ie: Beckham went to Preston in his early days, now that was a good piece of business.

True but I think your board need to be getting some business done. Time is getting short and you don't want to be left with the 'surplus to requirements' Savvy managers tend to 'snap up' the players they want early on.

Looks like this week Burnley will be singing Dawson from WBA and Lansbury from Forest for a combined total of approximately £7.5 million.

Poor skint Blackburn with no hope, only signing freebies and loans and Gary Bowyer saying he 'hopes' to still have Jordan Rhodes at the end of August - rumours in Nottingham that Forest are using the Lansbury and Lascalles money to buy Jordan Rhodes - now wouldn't THAT be something.

Ha ha ha - aww poor little multi-usernamed troll - are you getting all upset about the thought that Burnley are going to be spending some money when your skint little Second Division club can't afford to sign anyone at all, and haven't spent a penny in transfer fees all summer AND to cap it all off are paying £25k a week for Leon Best to score goals for Derby County?

Maybe the reason Ings won't sign a new deal is because he's on 12K a week and wants more. I mean, what would you do?
Maybe the answer would be to sell him to Liverpool who would pay him 50K a week, then loan him back with Liverpool paying 40 K and us giving him 10k, this would fit Burnleys wage structure being such a big club an all.

If you listen to nobber fans you'd think Beckam learnt everything at pne. He actually spent one month there. However if we can unearth a young hungry player like we did with Jack Cork then fair enough.

He's said it right there (and doesn't even seem to be certain of how many he's lost, either that or he can't count). Numbers before quality. That is the depth of the situation you find yourselves - so short of numbers you can't even begin to consider Premier League quality. Admittedly slightly ahead of Blackpools situation though their predicament will not be played out under the glare of Sky. What I think we're seeing is the early signs of a man who has unintentionally got out of his depth.

Well as I get al my predictions wrong, we will start off with a thumping 10-0 victory over chelsea, this will set us on an unbeaten run like arsenal, we will be crowned champions by christmas and Dyche will still be our manager in February, Ings will sign a new deal and be top scorer in Europe
Dyche will be crowned manager of the year and we will have the best defensive record since stats began conceding only 1 goal all season, a freak own goal from england international Dawson who we sign for 6 million in the next 48 hours.

I certainly don't think that the future of the club (long term that is) should be risked by paying ridiculous sums and wages. We are right to be cautious. I want Ings to stay, of course I do, but NOT on 30/40 grand a week.
Incidentally, nice to see the usual predictions from Rovers. There are two reasons for the unswerving predictions of failure:
1. If you keep predicting the same thing, chances are that one day you will be right, that's the law of averages.
2. If you keep doing the same thing over and over again and keep getting the same negative results it is a sign of insanity
You choose.

Singing, is this the x factor?
Dyche has already stated we are waiting to see whats left in the bowl, before it gets flushed, and we'll sign whatever is down there.

What a joke of a club Blackburn are - get thee behind us.
Cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo.
This window is turning into a fiasco for our well run club, we can't even sign freebies
You wrote "Maybe Ings won't sign because he's on £12k a week and he wants more"? Well, you rocket scientist, his current contract is a Championship contract, be it £12K a week or less. We've offered him a new contract. Its a Premiership contract. It pays him far more than his current contract. Hello.
You have to laugh though, they brought in Best whilst still in the championship and paid him 32K a week and paid big money for him and it got them nowhere, we sign Ings pay him 12K a week and we get promoted. Now which one is the better deal. BRFC always paying inflated wages for no hopers and journeymen since the Venkys came to town. Comedy Gold.

Don't know hasn't, happened yet. Surely you, the ultimate Mr Predictor, can tell us? Though I suggest you save your six typing fingers for another entry because you have made a single prediction in your other guises - that being, Burnley to fail at all things all the time, constantly.
How am I doing?
Well, you're true to form. Offering positive predictions qualified by you are always wrong - thus the opposite will occur. And to do it as wish-list. The Burnley fan who runs every element of the club down all the time and constantly. Hang on ..... Its Turf Moor Tom with his trousers on!

Whereas Blackburn have signed those quality players such as Varney (Not wanted by an awful Leeds side), Chris 'The Lump' Brown (29 and never hit double figures ever in his career and fired Donny Rovers to relegation last season) and Possibly the worst full back in the division in Alex Baptiste.

What a joke of a club Blackburn are - get thee behind us.
Steve Keans last signings, Danny Murphy, dickson etuhu, leon best, I'm amazed he even found another job in football. Still when Dyche walks, he'll probably throw his hat in the ring

If you listen to nobber fans you'd think Beckam learnt everything at pne. He actually spent one month there. However if we can unearth a young hungry player like we did with Jack Cork then fair enough.
Yeah what happened to Jack Cork, we could sign him, he'd love to come back
Heard you are a fan. That keep 8,000 away every week. And those players you say are blowing us out because we are Burnley, despite the fact that each article states the actually reason and its never referred to you by you. I think you're keeping them away too.

Hi Tom,
you'd be better off doing what Dyche does and looking in the skip round back. There may be a few 50 inch 4k screens in that haven't got a fuse in the plug. As soon as you put a fuse in they'll be worth 1500 quid.

TurfMoorTom / AP4B suffers from a masochistic self-defeating personality disorder. He gets aroused by fantasies of being publicly humiliated by Burnley supporters. He is gratified by degredation and spends his every waking moment in a state of complete mental torment desperate to find a negative in Burnleys fantastic progress and intent on erasing the memory of his own clubs desperate and futile struggle against the inevitable.

Wow, no wonder everyone outside Blackburn aka Royston Vasey, thinks you will achieve four fifths of **** all this season.

Hi Tom,
you'd be better off doing what Dyche does and looking in the skip round back. There may be a few 50 inch 4k screens in that haven't got a fuse in the plug. As soon as you put a fuse in they'll be worth 1500 quid.

Ignoring the froth, if you compare the summer transfer policies of 3 local teams you'd say ours was consolidation and increased quality - risks been caught short on quality, Preston conolidation and increased quality - again risks being that bit short. Blackburn driven by cost cuts, risks losing existing quality and replacingvit with weakness. So in January if we're doing OK we stick or twist and stay up, doing less well we have no option spend or sink. Preston if not top 4-6 can spend a bit. Only Blackburn - found wanting on quality won't be in a position to push for promotion. They will get a transfer embargo, add the shipping out of players who could secure a top4-8 and it makes you wonder if their interest in BFC is like a form of escapism? They keep going on about relegation, but if they are 10-14th in Jan they could well see one before us

All tis banter is just plain glossing over the facts. And the facts so far today are.
Fact 1, we are waiting to see whats left on the shoe before scraping it into a bowl.
Fact 2 we can't even sign a WBA reserve
Fact 3 Ings hasn't signed a new deal
Fact 4 We are hoping that players will hand in transfer requests and their clubs give them free transfers for being naughty boys
Fact 5 If we get the parent club to pay 90% of their wages we can sign someone on 100k a week
Fact 6 We are fast turning into a Jason Mansford performance.
Fact7 Claret and blue and ginger are a terrible colour combo.

Don't know hasn't, happened yet. Surely you, the ultimate Mr Predictor, can tell us? Though I suggest you save your six typing fingers for another entry because you have made a single prediction in your other guises - that being, Burnley to fail at all things all the time, constantly.
How am I doing?
In all your various guises you use 1000s of word but still talk nothing but row locks. Which no doubt is the object of your trolling to wind people up and get a reaction. Get wise fellow posters, there are plenty of valid points being made from both sides of the fence so plenty of opportunity for lively debate without having to answer to TTT or whichever name he is using to answer himself

Sorted, got an old CRT set from the West Brom branch of British Heart Foundation in the end for £10 - bit on the blink already but a bargain I reckon. After all, it used to be the best technology when it's last owner from Blackburn had it and might still do a job for a while. When it comes to TV sets, as we all know, numbers are more important than quality so I might buy a few more of these. I've got some posh mates coming up to visit from Chelsea weekend after next. I'm sure they won't think I'm a spendthrift mug.

Look Up Blackburn says...

You can't expect to get any acceptance from the Blackburn fans of their new position. They simply cannot process the facts at the moment. I did think it would have started to sink in by now but alas they are still struggling to take in the enormity of our progress and the scale of their own demise.

It makes them sick with jealousy and leaves them with only a bitter and twisted wishlist that, should all the items come true, will reverse the last four years and put them back in the Premier League and us below them.

The sad truth however is that the horse has already bolted while they are struggling to lock the stable door. The days of Blackburn Rovers as any kind of competition to Burnley FC are now in the past, their future is in the lower leagues whilst we now benefit from the vast wealth of the Premier League and the knowledge that we have achieved this the right way through the hard work and dedication of a very talented and modest group of players, under the supervision of the best young English manager in a generation.

We have utterly destroyed their dreams. You'll never beat the Rovers?, 34 Years? etc., all taken from them.

It's all gone so tragically wrong for them in 4 short years and that's why they cannot accept their position such is the anger and bile that now engulfs their miserable and hate-filled existence.

Laugh at them. Laugh at their desperation. Laugh at their jealousy.

Blackburn Rovers are staying down forever.
Don't know hasn't, happened yet. Surely you, the ultimate Mr Predictor, can tell us? Though I suggest you save your six typing fingers for another entry because you have made a single prediction in your other guises - that being, Burnley to fail at all things all the time, constantly.

Well TMT has invented about 8-9 new usernames and is talking to himself all over the LET before ditching his toxic selves and starting again, but it's hard to get a Blackburn fan (not suffering a nervous online breakdown) to reallr give an honest opinion. Most Clarets will say that relegation is possible but not inevitable, whereas the lot down the road think promotion for them is (almost) inevitable as if you win it by not doing for a few years and based on the last 20 years not the last 2. Were we like this when we went down into the old div2? I imagine we thought it's just a blip and like Rovers missed all the signs that our direction of travel was downward. So yes they're deluded but this could be about clubs dropping and fans taking a year or two to catch up?

Hi Tom,
you'd be better off doing what Dyche does and looking in the skip round back. There may be a few 50 inch 4k screens in that haven't got a fuse in the plug. As soon as you put a fuse in they'll be worth 1500 quid.
Can you pick one up for me whilst you're there, thanks man.
oh do you mean like a David Jones signing. He turned out to be a rubbish didn't he. Or was it that an ex utd and England under 21 player is always going to have quality, you just need the right club and manager to help him grow. Hence the reason he chose Burnley over Blackburn and how right he was in doing so.

Singing, is this the x factor?
Dyche has already stated we are waiting to see whats left in the bowl, before it gets flushed, and we'll sign whatever is down there.
Farming at its finest
Ha ha ha - aww poor little multi-usernamed troll - are you getting all upset about the thought that Burnley are going to be spending some money when your skint little Second Division club can't afford to sign anyone at all, and haven't spent a penny in transfer fees all summer AND to cap it all off are paying £25k a week for Leon Best to score goals for Derby County?

What a joke of a club Blackburn are - get thee behind us.
Steve Keans last signings, Danny Murphy, dickson etuhu, leon best, I'm amazed he even found another job in football. Still when Dyche walks, he'll probably throw his hat in the ring
An empty taxi pulled up at the Turf and AP4B got out.

I think you'll find Blackburn simply didn't choose him and signed Evans and Cairney instead. To be fair, Jones is average ok but with non of the potential of these two. The final nail in the coffin I'm informed is that he simply looks like a Dingle.

Dyche is waiting for the dregs, will that fact do?
Whereas Blackburn have signed those quality players such as Varney (Not wanted by an awful Leeds side), Chris 'The Lump' Brown (29 and never hit double figures ever in his career and fired Donny Rovers to relegation last season) and Possibly the worst full back in the division in Alex Baptiste.

Wow, no wonder everyone outside Blackburn aka Royston Vasey, thinks you will achieve four fifths of **** all this season.
Royston Vasey. I like the comparison. They were all bonkers in their local club for local people run by Indian chicken farmers. They would love that. Even got the cross dresser waiting his gender 'Change' is there.

To Chuck. Another Royston Vasey day at Deadwood. Their last credible reserve striker gone. Do you think they will try to sign Tubbs?

I'm interested in a 46" LED smart TV currently on sale in Curry's. They want £1299 though so far I've offered £200, £300 and £400. I'm not going to throw silly money at them. Can anyone tell me what's going on in Eastenders?
Hi Tom,
you'd be better off doing what Dyche does and looking in the skip round back.
I think you'll find Blackburn simply didn't choose him and signed Evans and Cairney instead. To be fair, Jones is average ok but with non of the potential of these two. The final nail in the coffin I'm informed is that he simply looks like a Dingle.
But the difference is he moved away from Eawood and now he'll be playing in the premier league this season and they will not. Pretty good business for both Dyche and Jones wouldn't you say.
