FULL-TIME: Leicester 1, Burnley 1
2:25pm Saturday 14th December 2013 in News
BURNLEY created a one-point lead at the top of the Championship ahead of today's three o'clock kick-offs after coming back from behind at Leicester City.
The Foxes took the lead in the 14th minute from the penalty spot after Jamie Vardy went down under Jason Shackell and Ben Mee's combined challenge in the box.
The former Clarets loanee had seven goals against Burnley during his career, and duly took his tally to eight by sending Tom Heaton the wrong way from the spot - the striker's 10th league goal of the season.
Burnley were on the back foot for long periods of the first half but could have equalised through Danny Ings.
Kieran Trippier curled a cross into the box with his left foot and Ings glanced a header goalwards but the top scorer hit the post.
Vardy should have made it 2-0 just before the break after moving away from Ben Mee for a clear sight of goal, but fired narrowly wide across Heaton.
Burnley were better in all departments in the second half and welcomed an early equaliser.
Trippier's cross from the right found Ings 10 yards out and the striker made no mistake for his 16th for the Clarets this season.
Vokes might have put Burnley in front after a mistake by Ritchie De Laet at the back, but Kasper Schmiechel got a big hand to stop it.
In addition Burnley had two big penalty shouts ignored midway through the half and came under late pressure after the introduction of Gary Taylor-Fletcher.
But Sean Dyche's side resisted to secure a well-earned point at the King Power Stadium.
