HALF-TIME: Brighton 1, Burnley 0
3:53pm Saturday 23rd February 2013 in News
BURNLEY go into half-time a goal down at the AMEX Stadium, after making it too easy for Brighton to break the deadlock.
Gus Poyet's side had looked most dangerous down the left from the off, and it was from Wayne Bridge's ball into the box that the Seagulls were able to capitalise.
The delivery was flicked on in the box to an unmarked David Lopez, who side-footed home across Lee Grant.
The Clarets came close to equalising from two corners – the first headed down by Kevin Long and off the line by Gary Dicker, the second well saved by Tomasz Kuszczak after Jason Shackell looked certain to score with a downwards far post header.
But Brighton found another gear before the break, with Andrea Orlandi and Wayne Bridge combining down the left to put some dangerous deliveries into the Clarets' penalty box.
Leonardo Ulloa missed a glorious chance, somehow turning over Orlandi's cross from close range.
