Let's not Tripp up, urges Burnley defender

KIERAN Trippier has urged the Clarets to ‘seize the day’.

Burnley have seen opportunities to make a play for the top six slip through their grasp this month.

But as the month draws to a close with tomorrow’s trip to Brighton, Trippier insists it is time Burnley showed they mean business, and start to close the gap.

“We’ve dropped loads of points – like Palace for instance. If you score three goals there you should win the game,” said the right back.

“Then there’s Peterborough, and even Bristol City – where we ended up doing the business but we gave away sloppy goals.

“At Watford last year we were 2-0 up and they beat us 3-2. It’s a massive disappointment to look back and see how many points we’ve thrown away.

“Even if we’d won half of those games we could have been second.

“We’re disappointed with that, but we think we’ve got a better chance this year than previous years.

“The manager’s done a good job on us defensively and got us all into gear.

“I’m not saying Eddie Howe didn’t – he’s a good manager – but this manager tells you how it is.”

And Trippier says the Clarets are driven to use their frustration at the volume of points they've lost as a spur, and insists there is still plenty to play for.

The right back knows how tough three points will be at the AMEX Stadium. The Clarets had their work cut out against just nine men for around 80 minutes of their last visit last season.

Burnley did just enough in the end, with Trippier himself scoring the winner.

And he would settle for a similar result again to get them back on track after revealing a review of the number of points they had dropped served as a wake-up call.

“We know we could be better off in the league, although every other team will probably say the same thing. ” he said.

“Every game we play in this league is difficult. There are so many good teams, but we've done well this season ourselves and have kept a few clean sheets.

“If we could have a good spell hopefully we’ll be right up there. Reading did very well last year with a late run.

“If teams above us continue to drop points that will give us an extra chance.

“We’ve got a great team spirit at the moment and we’re all buzzing and we all think we can push into the play-offs by the end of the season.”

The shear desperation spouting fom dickie van dyke is there for all to see. No wins in eight and still papping on about going up. Hahahahahahahaha
Look up you maggats theres a whole division on top of you.
Its all gone quiet at the dingle dome. As I predicted your results would drop off and you would be mid table mediocrity or lower. Yet again I am proven correct.
Keep papping on dickie, you are punching way above your weight anyway and truly belong in division 3. Theres some big clubs in this division and you're not one of em. Austin is running his contract down ready to jump to Bournemouth on a free when someone triggers his spud picking clause for manual labourers.
Enjoy.

Oh I think you'll find Bonleh are a big club Jarrod because they said they are.
Did you know they took 500,000 to Wembley for the carrier bag cup final back in the 80's?

I see your desperation poison is changing somewhat glentoran as you realise your pathetic reveling at Rovers turmoil slowly fades away as normal service is resumed.

3 whole weeks above us in the league was all it took for all the string vest wearing gurners - in particularly you, to spout all the typical dingle, selective & short term memory desperation filth, only to make yourself look a bigger tw4t than you already had.

There's no arrogance in making sarcastic remarks about Bonlehs fake huge support, just satisfaction in watching you bite like the bitter and twisted joke you are....

BRFC - MILLIONS SPENT AND MILLIONS SOLD, THE TROPHIES ARE IN THE CABINET WHILE BONLEHS ARE FULL OF MOLD
