Clarets boss Dyche puzzled by point
10:25pm Saturday 22nd December 2012 in News
BURNLEY manager Sean Dyche said he was baffled by his side's draw at Birmingham City.
The Clarets dominated for long periods at St Andrew's, and could even have been out of sight in the opening 20 minutes given the number of chances they created from the kick-off.
That did not stop them trailing at the break, after Curtis Davies broke the deadlock with a header on the half-hour.
But two goals in two minutes gave Burnley the advantage midway through the second half, only for Nikola Zigic to salvage a point with a late equaliser, resulting in Burnley's fourth draw in five games.
“Again we can’t believe we haven’t won that game and by the law of averages it has to change when you are as dominant as that,” said Dyche.
“It’s the madness of the game and with the run of draws we are on we can’t believe we haven’t got more points on the board.
“We are not having the rub of the green, but the signs are clear and the fans, who were tremendous again today, have seen another very thorough performance from a group of very motivated players.
“They are feeling it too and they can’t believe it, but at the end of the day we are so close to winning football matches.”
