Lancashire Police says trouble between Burnley and Rovers fans has been minimal today.
There were seven arrests, most for relatively minor offences.
Silver Commander Superintendent Terry Woods said: “I would like to thank the supporters for being patient, especially around travel arrangements.
“We said from the outset that the overwhelming majority of supporters of both teams are law-abiding citizens who are passionate about supporting their football team. The operation was put in place to make sure that people could enjoy the occasion and get to and from the ground safely.
“The small number of arrests shows that between ourselves and the two football clubs, we have ensured that fans have been able to enjoy the game safely.”

A Darener says
So far so good! Don't care how well Burnley play as long as they don't score,
1:22pm
Burnley promoting a new initiative called Dychember. Back the campaign by growing your own Sean Dyche-style goatee. Should help keep your face warm during these cold months.
1:17pm
Cleared by Rovers and that is the half. Burnley by far the better side. Berg has a lot of talking/shouting to do.
1:17pm
What do you think of it so far? Send us your views on the first half of Clarets v Rovers with the hashtag #LTDerby
1:16pm
Corner to Burnley. Could be the last chance of the half....
1:16pm
Burnley currently winning the noisiest fans award, but the Blackburn fans have been given little to cheer in the first half.
1:15pm
Burnley fans clearly have long memories as Martin Olsson's every touch is roundly booed, owing to that dive that gave Blackburn a win on their last visit here
1:15pm
Have #Rovers had a shot on goal yet??? Sounds like we are getting battered by the dingles!
— @roversmark8 02 December 2012
1:14pm
Here's another one:
1:14pm
Austin beats Hanley but his low shot from a tight angle is easily saved by Robinson
1:14pm
First live picture in from today's match:
1:14pm
Rovers resorting to long balls far too often and it isn't working. Burnley far more penetrative going forward.
1:12pm
Jordan Rhodes tries from long distance but it is way, way, way over the bar.
1:11pm
One from the training ground that didn't pay off there. Floated to Stock on edge of the box whose volley sailed well over.
1:10pm
Robinson produces another fine save to deny Paterson's effort from the edge of the box. Out for anotherBurnley corner.
1:10pm
A Burnley corner misses everyone and is headed out to the edge of the box where Stock's effort is blocked
1:08pm
Dann tries to take Pedersen's foot off with over-hit cross-field ball and it bounces out for a Burnley throw-in.Things just aren't going their way at the moment and half-time probably can't come quick enough for Henning Berg.
1:07pm
Trippier's cross headed away by Hanley. Another Burnley throw.
1:06pm
One too many tricks for Pedersen on edge of box as he spurns a chance to shoot. Burnley counter and it is out for a throw-in on edge of the box.
1:05pm
Burnley well on top at the moment and fans getting behind them magnificently. Rovers have 10 minutes before half time.
1:04pm
Succession of chances for Burnley culminating in good header by Austin fantastically saved by a diving Robinson. Out for another corner to the hosts.
1:03pm
Long range shot from Wallace parried by Robinson who should have held it. Out for a Burnley corner.
1:03pm
Ref giving Ross Wallace a talking to as tempers starting to fray. Some excitable footballers out here.
1:01pm
Burnley look solid at the back and have been equal to everything Rovers have thrown at them.
1:00pm
Ball finds Murphy on edge of box whose shot hits a defender before coming ack out to him and he hits it wide. Half an hour in. Still 0-0.
12:59pm
Pedersen hurt in challenge by Marney. Free kick but no card. Fans and Burnley players not happy.
12:58pm
Kazim-Richards robbed of ball on edge of box. Should have done better.
12:57pm
Robinson punches corner out only as far as Shackell, but his shot is well over the bar.
12:56pm
Ball drops to goal machine Austin in the Rovers box but it won't sit for him and is cleared. Now out for a Burnley corner.
12:56pm
Danny Murphy booked for a foul on Dean Marney
12:54pm
Good chance for Rovers. Pedersen beats two defenders and plays a nice ball over the top for Rhodes, but Lee Grant looks assured as he comes to claim it.
12:53pm
22 minutes in and nobody is in control and there have been no goals
12:51pm
Rovers advance deep into enemy territory but Pedersen's touch is lacking and it is out for a Rovers throw close to half way line.
12:50pm
Aaaaaand it is back with Robinson and out for a Burnley throw half way into Rovers half.
12:50pm
Corner to Rovers. Pedersen getting plenty of stick from the Burnley fans as he runs in to take it. Out for a Rovers throw which Pedersen has jogged over also to take.
12:49pm
Despite rumours, we can confirm that NONE of the Blackburn Rovers coaches have had bricks thrown at them.
— @LancsPolice 02 December 2012
12:49pm
Chris McCann missesclear chance from just outside the box, firing wide after Wallace's lay-off. Burnley having most of the attacks right now.
12:46pm
Ben Mee crunched by Kazim-Richards.Burnley fans are fuming but referee just gives him a talking to. He needs to calm down as both sides need all their players on the pitch. Boos as the card is not brandished by ref Lee Mason.
12:43pm
Lively start but no action in either area as yet. #twitterclarets
— @AndrewGreaves84 02 December 2012
12:43pm
Headed away but finds Wallace again. It is out for a throw-in. Cleared by Rovers.
12:42pm
Love him or loathe him, 250 #rovers appearances for #MGP is an impressive milestone.
— @matt_lincoln_ 02 December 2012
12:42pm
Corner to Burnley. Wallace to take.
12:40pm
Burnley miss a good chance as pass across box isn't close enough to McCann, Rovers clearance isn't good enough and follow-up shot is blasted over by Wallace from edge of the area.
12:36pm
Comes to nothing. Rovers free kick on edge of own box. Robinson looking to launch it.
12:36pm
Poorly taken low and Burnley breaking with Ross Wallace but it is out for a throw about 20 yards out.
12:35pm
Rovers free kick outside box about 12 yards out after Henley fouled. Pedersen to take.
12:34pm
Trippier cross for Austin but he's beaten in the air and it is headed away.
12:32pm
Frantic start to the game. Nobody in control and no real chances yet.
