BURNLEY were condemned to defeat at Middlesbrough this evening by a late strike in a topsy-turvy encounter.
Charlie Austin's third goal in as many games put the momentum with the visitors.
But against a side smarting from an opening day defeat at Barnsley, they expected a backlash.
It came in the form of three fearsome strikes; the first from Nicky Bailey, cancelling out Austin's header, then Adam Reach gave Middlesbrough the lead with an unstoppable effort.
Junior Stanislas cancelled it out with three minutes of normal time to go
But Luke Williams broke Burnley hearts. Soon after stepping off the bench, and just a minute after Stanislas had restored parity, the substitute crashed in the winner from 25 yards.
