BUOYANT Burnley made sure boss Eddie Howe had a 34th birthday to remember as they thumped poor Ipswich Town at Turf Moor tonight.

The Clarets coasted home against Paul Jewell's Tractor Boys as they won back-to-back Championship games in style with this result coming hot on the heels of Saturday's amazing comeback against Hull City.

The Clarets were rampant during the opening period and on-loan Sam Vokes opened the scoring on 33 minutes.

The Welshman had promised to perform in memory of Wales boss Gary Speed, who died at the weekend, and his goal put Burnley on top.

And Chris McCann doubled the advantage on the stroke of the break.

It got better for Burnley on 66 minutes when skipper McCann made it 3-0 and then Jay Rodriguez grabbed the fourth 13 minutes from time to round off a fine night for the Clarets.
