BURNLEY'S play-off hopes are disappearing after they crashed at Nottingham Forest tonight with 10 men.

Marvin Bartley was sent off as the Clarets slipped to 12th place in the Championship, having picked up just one point from their last six games.

Midfielder Bartley, in his third start for the Clarets, was given his marching orders by referee Jon Moss just after the half-hour mark for a rash tackle on Forest's Luke Chambers.

It proved to be the only dramatic action of the first-half, with both sides creating very little in the way of clear-cut chances.

The Clarets held out until the 72nd minute, when David McGoldrick opened the scoring for Forest from close range.

Chris Iwelumo missed a golden opportunity to equalise late on when his header was directed straight at Forest stopper Lee Camp.

In the dying moments, McGoldrick sealed victory for the home side.
