Blackburn Rovers complete Givet signing

BLACKBURN Rovers have completed the permanent signing of defender Gael Givet on a four-year contract.
The Frenchman impressed during a loan spell at Ewood Park in the second half of last season and was always expected to make his deal permanent.
Rovers agreed an undisclosed fee with Marseille when they originally signed the 27-year-old in January and have now taken up the option to keep Givet at the club on a long-term basis.

This search for a striker reminds me a little bit of the summer of 1991.
There were slightly different circumstances then but Rovers fans were waiting all summer to sign a striker. After making bids for Lineker, Sheringham, Stewart and Newell we ended up signing David Speedie at the last minute.
It seemed like a disappointing anticlimax at the time, but he turned out to be one of the most important signings in Rovers history.

Givet was one of the highlights of last season and as good as Johnson who Pool just wasted £17m on. Apart from the right back position, we've got a good defense. Nelson, Samba, Givet and Warnock. Solid!

The reason i was asking the other day if he was a Rovers player,Was i had a feeling some other gits with more money would have tried to spoil our party of getting a class player in for not a lot of money.
This is a good solid player to add to our team,Well spotted Sam

Looks like Warnock will be shipped into the center of the park now, or maybe replace pedders on the left. 1 more midfielder, right back and a striker now Big Sam.
