FULL-TIME: Bolton Wanderers 1 Burnley 0

BURNLEY slipped into the bottom three as Owen Coyle got his first points as Bolton manager.

A goal from Chung-Yong Lee in the 34th minute at the Reebok Stadium was enough to separate the two teams.

About 5,000 supporters backed Burnley and some abusive chants were aimed at Coyle while one banner stated "He is not the Messiah, he’s a very naughty boy.”

Burnley's cause was not helped in that they lost Graham Alexander and Chris McCann to injury in the first half.

Burnley have now picked up only one point from 12 games on the road.

I agree with the previous post in that the Wanderers were poor tonight but they had enough in their locker to beat Burnley with little difficulty. However, I wish Burnley well and hope both teams remain in the top flight . It would be good for several reasons to have all Lancashire clubs in the Premiership.

Look, the name changing liar is back. You can't believe Rovers fans are gloating at Burnley's demise. It's called rivalry. Something you'd know nothing about. Bolton have no real rivals. You claim to hate Man U. Well so does every real football fan and do you know what, they don't even acknowledge you exist. Thats why you are constantly on Rovers and Burnley pages talking s***. Find someone in Greater Manchester to hate, maybe Bury would fit the bill and leave the real Lancashire clubs to show you what a real rivalry is all about.

I agree barbarossa, I can think of 6 very good reasons for the Clarets to stay up. Another 6 easy points for the Rovers again next season.

As David Eyres said on Radio Burnley " no passion, no desire and no goals under Law" the commentary also said Burnley were lumping it forward.
Think we might see a bit more of that when the pressure of being in the bottom 3 starts to be realised.

Can someone kindly explain why Coyle is a Judus?

He has gone from a small club, to a club who are not much bigger, but have more money to spend. From a club who normaly find it hard in the championship, to a club who normally push for europe.

It may only be a small one, but it is a step up.

Burnley fans, stop crying, get over it, move on, the more you moan, the more it will effect the players and help your club go down,

WHAT AM I SAYING, keep moaning, keep crying.... help your club go back to where you belong.

Example, last year, semi final, beat a few prem teams, won the playoff final at the new wembly, this year, yes, we don't have the money and we are not going to go 60mill in debt like Bolton , we have an exciting year in the prem, go down, challenge for promotion or playoffs again, blackburn just sit stale as rotten cheese, plodding on, can't win anything, all games mean the same, just trying to survive, I mean, we would take it, but it's not life or death, the finance of the club is more important!

Jesus, now I know what it feels like to be a Rovers fan!
.
I know we have spent less than 24 hours in the "relegation zone" and its worrying, what it must be like to spend weeks in the bottom three is something that (at the moment!) only the Rovers can tell us.
.
To have to watch a team that seems to have forgotten how to pass to each other, seems to have lost the fighting edge and spirit that used to be so strong is depressing, but again I will bow to the Rovers fans who must have had that felling for the last couple of years.
.
I've forgotten what its like to be in a relegation dog fight, but I am sure the Rovers fans, with their annual battle will be able to come on and give us some advice.
.
What worries me most is that all I will have to look forward to is being able to gloat at the Rovers and not have anything to support at Burnley, but then again thats all that most Rovers fans on here have been doing all season.
.
Not bigger, but even when we are reeling against the ropes and looking as though we are facing a tough time, we are still better!

He He He. Getting desperate are we? Not one of your better posts Midas. You must be feeling the pressure.
.
Can't understand why you aren't used to the Carrots being in a relegation dog fight. Perhaps you're a new supporter. Those who've been following your shower for more than 2 seassons will have been more than used to being at the wrong end of the league.
.
And yes, Rovers have had an awkward 2 seasons. That doesn't make it an "annual battle", simply a poor 2 seasons. I would have thought that was obvious even to the thickest of your supporters.

The last time we were in a relegation fight was 1997/8 (2003 we were being drawn into it but were quite safe really). However to be fair you had a good run under Hughes and haven't had as bad a run as you deserve!!

I think you might just find that when you sink into the Championship that your saleable assets will be sold. Elliot, Eagles, Macdonald, Fletcher, England Right Back Mears and others will want to continue plying their trade in the Premiership, likely two or three of them will take the M65-M61 to the promised land of the Breezeblock and God/Judas/Moses/JOsh
ua Coyle/
.
Then, and only then will you realise that life is cr@p being a Burnley fan. Wasn't it great when you were lording it over us? Six points ahead of us, talk of Europe, greatest manager since Warburtons sliced a loaf, England call-up's for half of your squad. Talk about deluded, welcome to the real world.
.
Top four or five apart, the Prem is cr@p and every team plays out of fear, rather than playing football, as you are now finding out. No ope on the horizon, your last hope of salvation is at the end of March when you can only pray you get something from your last ever cup final.

Best advice. Book a long holiday, pick up a paper after the final game and find out what happened. The reality of relegation dawning kicks in mid-February and it is sickening. The season we went down was awful, the defeat at home to Liverpool when we capitulated was the tin hat on everything and frustration spilled over leading to that incident near the Infirmary.
.
You look for hope, inspiration, positives out of your performances and all you find are negatives. How long since your last league win? All the signs are there and the players must have been affected by Coyle leaving them in the sh1t. A painful few months ahead I thnk for you boys, but, hey, dare to dream.

Accirding to Suzanne Geldart the LT Burnley journo we put up a good fight, were hit hard by injuries and were unlucky not to get a draw (impliedly). Yet in the Times of London Bolton were convincing winners and could have won by a bigger margin!.

Someone is not being entirely accurate here and I suspect it is Suzanne Geldart. Can we please have reports based on a fair representation of the match ? Current reporting (along with the Cummings column) is frankly an insult to our intelligence and I for one am getting fed up with it.The primary responsibility of professional journalism is to inform not raise fans morale in a blatantly amatuerish way

Ah now I see it all!! The BRFC fans are in the same mould as Man Utd. fans they finally wake up and like the early morning cockerel start to crow. But, as usual and again in this instance only when something really happens, which is generally in regards to the Clarets. They must have a small world (sorry re-phrase - intellect) when all they can see (when looking at the wider picture) are happenings in respect of BFC. A word of sage advice during your cacklings "It ain't all over until the Fat Lady sings" In other words "Here's looking down at BRFC fans at the end of the season" from someone who still has confidence
