FULL-TIME: Blackburn Rovers 2 Sydney 1

BLACKBURN Rovers ended their Sydney Festival of Football campaign in victory after beating Sydney 2-1 this morning.

Brett Emerton's acrobatic volley gave Rovers a deserved first half lead, before Morten Gamst Pedersen bundled home after the break.

The hosts pulled a goal back through Brosuqe towards the end but, thanks to a good Mark Bunn save, Rovers were able to keep their lead.

El-Hadji Diouf impressed on the left for Rovers as did Morten Gamst Pedersen as the lone man in attack.

Emerton's chest and volleyed opener came from Gael Givet's searching free kick, while Pedersen tapped home from Junior Hoilett's good work on the left.

Rovers line-up: Bunn, Salgado (Chimbonda 71), Olsson, Nelsen (Hanley 58), Givet, Grella (Jones 57), Emerton (Hoilett 57), Dunn (Andrews 66), Pedersen, Diouf, Nzonzi.

Subs not used: Robinson, Jacobsen, Linganzi, Morris, Rigters.

after watching this online we played well for parts but once sydney got a goal back they started panicking.

but we seriously need a finisher as there were quite a few chances 11 shots at goal but only four on target in the first half which we pretty much dominated.

come on sam give us a goal scorer so we can hit the ground running.

oh just one more thing well done diouf for your performance shows what can happen when u hit the byline b4 u cross the ball, and grella played well and sam has said after the match that galatasary have not been in contact so thats the end of that then lmao

Never mind that Einstein, have you bought any of the 820 tickets for the Rovers visit to Parkhead yet?.Originally, i wasn't going to bother but four of my Rovers mates who have never visited Paradise before fancy going up, so i'm going to take them up and introduce them to some of the Tollcross Bhoys and make a weekend of it.Should be a great excuse to put some drink away and introduce two great bunch of mates to each other, some quick witted friendly banter expected. Its a win win situation but i hope its a score draw.

The only good thing about Celtic fc apart form those gorbals tenement blocks around the ground is that its on London Rd and an easy route out of that hell hole…

I hear the Bhoys are having trouble attracting the fans these days- SPL club..Irn-Bru S L Division One support!

There seems no end to the insults that Tetley Drinker can put forth. Now he demeans Singapore and its football players. Would he like me to send his crass, ignorant and rude comments to the Singapore Football League, or perhaps the Straits Times.

Perhaps he does not like the idea of the racial mix of the Singapore players or just does not care who he offends with his rude and ignorant dross.

Yes, I have put a similar response to his equally offensive comment on the Burnley v Stoke City match.

Maybe he should take a rest from this paper for a while and think about himself and why he has to always be offensive to and about so many people and organisations.

If I were to take on Tetley Drinker's rude, crude and obscene mantle I would say that the Darwen Rovers just managed to beat a pub team in Sydney.

However, I shall leave him and his vile bile filled gutter where they belong.
If the only team that Darwen could beat in that tournament was Sydney FC then it would seem that there are sad days, and many of them, to come this season.

Still looking forward to the local league derby of Accrington Stanley v Darwen.

AND, thank your mother for the rabbits

I've got a suggestion for you, you soulless scruff. Now that the Dingles are "superstars" in Singapore after thrashing their 3 pub teams maybe you need to raise their profile even more by posting your inane rants on the local rags(Times) website.
.
Perhaps you could tell them how those nasty Blackburn fans are disrespecting their hapless "football" teams after being beaten by " a big club" like Bunlee.
.
Hey soulless. Now that Bunlee are the "next big thing" in Singapore after attracting massive crowds to the tour matches you could start a branch of the supporters club. You could name it 'the 3 thumbed foo branch'?
.
I've heard a rumour that hoards of locals attending these "sell out"matches were all chanting" Brian Laws is a football genius". is this true?
.
Nevermind, its pretty obvious that you live in planet Dingle land. That place were the scruff believe they are a "big club" up there with the Utd and Real with millions of supporters worldwide, with a top notch manager, who play in a magnificent ground that's packed week in week out, who are more successful and bigger than their local rivals with a board that invest in the club and where everything is just great.
.
Now read this carefully you demented scruff.
.
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T COME ON IT

I'm afraid so nice one, but to be honest can't see Rovers being able to sell them. That's only one section of the usual three that is usually offered to the away support.Demand obviously low.

Sam Allardyce is hoping protracted takeover talks at Blackburn will be concluded as soon as possible.

Indian businessman Saurin Shah is reported to be interested in buying the Ewood Park outfit for some time, but is yet to strike a deal.

Should he be able to put an agreement in place, Rovers could find themselves in a position to splash out before the new season gets under way.

Allardyce would certainly welcome the extra funds, but insists he just wants the issue resolved "one way or the other" so he knows where he stands.

"It has been a considerable time since this consortium has been looking at possibly purchasing the club," he said in the Sunday Express.

"It will be very close to a decision one way or another. They've had all the information and all the due diligence done that they need to do.

"That consortium probably needs to make a decision one way or the other whether it is the right thing for them or not.

"It is very important for the whole club and particularly important for me to know where the club is going.

"If you are getting new owners you want to know what they want to do and how they want to progress as a football club, which is important for me and the players here
