Just to update from earlier, I bumped into Emile Heskey last weekend and he looks as fit as the proverbial butcher's mutt. Since he's scored so many goals against the Rovers I asked him why didn't he sign for us. He said he would if anybody wanted to ask him. He's currently a free agent with tons of experience and would be sheer class in the Championship. If anyone knows how to hold the ball up, it's Emile. He's also used to playing for 'smaller' teams like Wigan and Birmingham City, so it's not as if he would come just for the dosh. If the Rovers fans got behind him (instead of complaining that he doesn't score enough apart from against us) he'd be a brilliant signing. He won every trophy going with Liverpool apart from the Premiership and all he needs is people who really believe in him. He's as strong as an ox and would give anyone around him the chance to hit 20 goals in one season.Imagine Jordan Rhodes (40 goals in 45 matches last season, astonishing at any level) learning next to him. Got to be a no-brainer. After those pie-in-the-sky punts on Jordan Slew and all the rest, Heskey is available, has put in the hard yards and is as solid a pro as they come. A pure battering ram. Buy! buy!

And I thought Kean was a numpty
Yes I can see heskey now saying to Rhodes, this is how you play if you want to score 7 a season, good aint it."

Blackburn Rovers snap up Etuhu

BLACKBURN Rovers have completed the signing of Fulham midfielder Dickson Etuhu.

The 30-year-old Nigerian international, who started his career at Manchester City, has signed a four-year deal with Rovers.

As exclusively revealed by the Lancashire Telegraph yesterday, Etuhu follows Danny Murphy from Fulham to Ewood Park and is set to fly out to the Netherlands to join Rovers on their pre-season tour.

Rovers boss Steve Kean said: "Dickson is a player I have admired for a long time and he will be a fantastic addition to the squad.

"He is a powerhouse in midfield, who has played at the highest level with Fulham and we feel confident he will complement our other midfield options."
