A CHARITY football match is being organised to raise funds to give six-year-old Sophie Thompson her ‘magic legs’.

The event will take place this Sunday at Hurn Bridge Sports Club in Christchurch.

The little girl, from Talbot Village in Bournemouth, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was 16 months old.

A spinal operation at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol would enable Sophie to walk unaided, but costs £40,000 for the treatment and aftercare.

The match will consist of an All Star Team v My Magic Legs 11 and confirmed players include ex-Tottenham star Micky Hazard, ex-Ajax and Leeds defender Clyde Wijjard, current Poole Town manager Tom Killick, Poole Pirates chief executive Matt Ford, AFC Wimbledon’s Warren Cummings, former boxer Steve Bendall, Fire FM’s Dave Taylor and Barry Hayles, former Fulham and Jamaican international, ex-AFCB legend Luther Blissett, Jamie Lawrence who played for Bradford Leicester, former AFC Bournemouth player Paul Morrell, former Leicester footballer Steve Claridge and former Eastender Mohammed George.

Gates open at 1.30pm and kick off is 3pm.

Entry is £3 and children £1.
