It is terrifying that this decision is in the hands of the Venkys, the people least qualified to take it. Venkys are almost certain to make a bad choice.

if BRFC are to attaract a manager that can take us forward , we need to show as fans that we are not just a bunch of militant fans, going crazy because we dont get our own way ( some in the press certainly have portrayed us as that) we have to show a unity at the wolves game that has been missing for months. I would love to see the ground packed out at wolves ( even though getting to the bar is going to be more hardwork at halftime) and everyone getting behind the players. it needs to feel like a party in ewood, this is a really important time for bRFC and as fans we need to show we are prepared to do our bit to get this club back where it needs to be.

I’ve got my ticket!

That’s despite Rovers making it as hard as possible to buy one. Here’s some free advice for you mr Commercial Manager (assuming we have one)
- Bin the dreadful new Rovers website, because it murders smartphones (Galaxy SIII, so hardly out of date) – I couldn’t access the fixture list, or ticket office number on it, and the page to actually buy a ticket online doesn’t work.
- When I eventually got the ticket office phone number, the message it greets you with is – “this call costs 10p a minute from a BT landline, calls from mobile phones will cost considerably more”. Well excuse me if I don’t want to pay a surcharge of a couple of quid just to buy a f*cking ticket calling from a mobile.

It’s not even about being forward thinking Rovers, it’s about providing the basic level of service that any half decent commercial organisation needs to this decade if it is to sell it’s product. Don’t p*ss off your customer base by putting barriers in their way to buying your product!

Good article Andy, and thanks for your support over the last few months.

I have been a staunch boycotter , but I renewed my season ticket on Saturday morning.

It's now time for the fans to unite and give the manager (whoever it is) and the team 100% support.

We also need the owners to show they have learnt from their mistakes and start to connect with the supporters, attending regular games at Ewood would be a good start.

Some fans will be disappointed by the appointment of the next manager whoever he may be. That is just the way it is. I will be sorry if it is not Tugay and Salgado but it is unlikely that I will get my wish!

It is vital for the future of the Club though that all fans get behind the club and the team and the Wolves game is the place to make the football world see that all we want is a club that we can be proud of again.

It will be party time and a time to start the massive rebuilding that is required after two years of toxic mismanagement.

We can win back a lot of friends by showing our support and carrying the players through the game on a wall of noise.

Every Rovers fan is happy that Kean has gone so let's hear that happiness from all four stands and make the players happy to contemplate playing at Ewood every other week. The away support has been terrific.

All those fans who have stayed away should come back and play their part in helping the club to move on.

Im not 100% sold until Venkys appoint an experienced manager. it's crucial Venkys know that the fans DO NOT WANT another inexperienced manager, even if he is a former player. We want someone who can change a game. If they appoint Black then im afraid its back to boycotts and blackouts.

Yes it would be nice if they would actually speak to the fans. They've made their mistakes and got us into this mess, they should acknowledge the fact but I won't hold my breath.......!00% behind the team and new manager. ...Let's hope they get it right this time.

I think we need to be realistic. It is asking a lot for a new guy to come in and take us straight back up. I for one would not be too upset so long we get close. It takes a while for a new manager to get his own men in and doing the business so I would expect a dramatic improvement after 6 months or so. Having said that, the right man would be well capable of motivating the current squad which in the main should be good enough but there is some that need a boot us the behind and maybe a new boss would wake up the few who need it. In a sentence a proven manager could get us up this season whereas a beginner might need longer.

owen coyle may soon be available, wouldn't put it past venky's to find a new way of pssin you off. Kean stepping down is a start but still doesn't sort out all the wrongs done within the club. Next bloke coming in will want some idea of what he's getting into.

It remains to be seen whether the whole cancer has gone, but only time will tell. Untill then, let`s enjoy and help the lads back to the Prem. Being realistic I think we can discount Redknapp or Sherwood, but you never know, stranger things have happened, like the kit man getting the job, or maybe they will go for the new kitman/ Pudsey bear, that will bring the young fans in.

I havent heard the interview, but Im sure Shebby will have been instructed by the lawyers on what not to say regarding SK resigning.

Up until Friday night I would have been 100% with you, but now we have to focus on backing the manager and the team until the end of this season and hope we can get back to the Prem.

For what It`s worth, my gut says Grayson, also any of the above, but Venky`s would have to have sorted their stall out knowing what I`ve seen of Holloway. Olle Gunnar Solsjaar could be a possability for me as well. Lets just pray It`s a positive appointment for all concerned.

would agree totally here, there will be a lot of stuff going on here, kean resigned through his lawyers and BRFC cannot give any impression they had prepared for it and by suggesting they were not going to do it, Mr Kean has to prove he was effectively constructively dismissed. Messy but just about paying as little as they can and Mr Kean trying to get as much as he can.

I for one applaud Andy Cryer for all of his efforts in highlighting the impervious situation that as blighted our club these last two years.

Under the strict guidelines that he works under he has always attempted to be brave in his reporting for the plight of BRFC and it's supporters resulting in the now departed Odious One.

The article above is a most brilliant rallying cry to show the world that BRFC and it's supporters are and will be vindicated for the stance that was taken.

I hope that folk will now give Venky the opportunity to redeem themselves by attending the Wolves game in force ? I hope we can wipe the slate clean as supporters and we go again ?

Yeah you're right I'd forgotten about Solskjar even though I mentioned him on saturday. Only hope they make the right appointment. Anyway at least the boycott is over. Looks like Burnley have started one of their own.

As others have said lets create a carnival atmosphere on Saturday. It will be good to see Th' Action Group members all back (in blue and white I hope). The atmosphere has been poor without you vocal guys and Gals.

The future could be bright and Blue and White. Venky's you have another chance with the fans now, appoint sensibly and we the fans of Rovers along with you the owners of Rovers will take this club forward again.

I'd like to thank Th'action Group I didn't like everything you did and you did make some mistakes, but by god you lot showed some passion for the club and never gave up, for that I thankyou.

Yes we certainly do need to unite together but the ball is in Venkys court.

They need to appoint a manger who has no ties with either Kean or Jerome Anderson - this is because the "trust" between owners and fans has been broken and therefore ONLY a man from the outside (whether that be TS, M McK, OGS, KR, KH etc etc) can UNITE us back with the owners and drive us forwards TOGETHER.

Someone like Black or Hendry would NOT be acceptable to a large section of fans because of this percieved "SK/JA link and therefore the club would remain fractured and therefore Venkys MUST NOT let this happen (Black himself has already commented on this - which is at least, refreshingly honest of him).

Lets put things in perspective, Venky's have put us in this position and if it hadn't been for Kean finally "doing the right thing" 99% of the posters would still be ranting on about him.

However, the lunatics are still in charge of the asylum and now they have Co Co the clown running things.

Without a proven manager in place who is given and takes full responsibility for managing all aspects of the team (the clue is in the word manager) we really don't stand a chance.

Kean was just a symptom of the disease infecting our once proud Club.

You can lance a boil and apply a poultice, but the virus will just sit there waiting to break out again.

I renewed mine and it cost me. Didnt even get the discount for the games already played.I actually wished Id just bought a match ticket because I dont feel confident Venkys will make an appt. It will be another Kean scenario

Nice rant, but unfortunately very true, I have stopped trying to view the Rovers web page on the iphone. Even Brianair has seen the light as far as premium charges and hidden cost. Come on Rovers engage with the modern age.

We're gonna make a loss of approximately 25-30m this year however Football League regulations mean that we have to break even in our second year so we'd struggle to afford wages of Rhodes, Murphy, Etuhu etc next year, hence Venky's high point target in 1st 7 games. Fail to get promoted at the first attempt and it will be early January sales at Ewood come May! Next managerial appointment is crucial. Fingers crossed we get a quality manager!

This team with one or two additions (maybe a CB and Left Fullback) is good enough to win this division easily under the right manager. He needs to be able to show the players that tactics are not a new kind of sweet and that we can win games if we use them (tactics) properly - and he needs to be able to motivate the team and get the team spirit up again.

Sherwood and/or Shearer could do that, their medals and experience could be the example/catalyst that this lot need to lift them-up and get them playing as a proper team again, one that is full of heart and strength and desire.

But I would surmise Black wouldn't consider the post particularly should he lose the games he his in charge of, along with the backlash he could receive should he decide in taking it ?

We need a strong individual with experience in football not necessarily in management to take the club forward, as Venky have persistently promised ? This next appointment is crucial as as been said over weekend

I would love a Benitez type(although I don't like the man in football) if Venky are genuinely ambitious in aiming for the top ? Should they make another mistake here then - yes, I would be very, very disappointed, and the boycotts and blackouts could certainly resume !

Well said, JC, and a very important point, imho. There's so much euphoria with Kean's departure that fans are already buying season tickets and getting carried away that it will now be all OK. If Venkys want us to unite behind the team, they MUST appoint an independent experienced manager and not an Anderson yes man or someone inexperienced who does not know how to work with Venky's and the staff as well as the players. To suddenly be in the deep end of a club in so much turmoil is definitely not the place for inexperience no matter how well respected or enthusiastic they are.

Venkys have to respect the rights of the manager to dictate all footballing matters, to select players to buy, to lay foundations to build solidly for the future. Plus get Rovers up at first attempt. It won't be easy, it would be hard for Mourinho, Wenger, Ferguson and other top managers. It might be too much to ask to go up straight away, so Venkys, Shebby, Agnew and all need to really listen to the candidates and base their decision on common sense and respect. Can they do it? I don't know if they can. But I will unite behind any independent manager who is a strong leader and knows plenty about the game.

i went down to ewood to get a ticket for the next two home games over heard the staff in the ticket offfice saying eric black had the next three games to make the job is own.there was 4 or 5 guys heard the same i hope thay are wrong as we need a manager who is not a yes man a manager who will stand up to the clubs owners a manager who can put his and his team only on the pich with no input from the high and mighty dose this mean colin hendry will be is no 2 hope none of its true

Can you remember how quickly they both cleared off when given the chance? There are plenty of experienced managers out there to choose from

whilst the selection of manager is clearly pivotal on our future...........the 11 men on the pitch need to equally pull their fingers out.....after what i saw on saturday manager in place or not............a lot of work is needed on the pitch and a number of our more seasoned pro's need to step up in the meantime and take some responsibilty and set an example.......we need to get some passion and teamspriit back in the ranks

Ah here we go. How many times have I read and heard fans saying they will be down at the ticket office as soon as Kean goes. Now those fans are moving the goal posts. Initially it was the individual Kean and his lies, now it depends on who they appoint. At this time the players and indeed Eric Black need all the support they can get if they are to keep pushing at the top as they are stuck in the middle of Vemkys circus as much as anybody. Iv bought my ST as iv always said I would. That was my deal and I understood it to be for most others or maybe as somebody said below it was all an excuse just not to spend the money?

I've renewed and am prepared to give Venkys a second chance. I do not think they will apoint Black, but the great unknown is Mme Desai who, sadly, appears to be the controlling interest. Nevertheless I hope that sense prevails and they make a credible, (I think that is all we really want), choice as manager; mine, for what it's worth would be Keith Hill.

I totally agree. A defeat at Forest and ther’ll be less than 15000 for the Wolves game. Rovers supporters are a fickle bunch and those on this thread do NOT represent thousands. I doubt Venky’s can afford a top appointment. Black or whoever takes over has to be supported. Venky’s are the real problem. The structure of a well managed club simply fell apart with the takeover leading to a loss of key personel inc. the club doc.(a former colleague of mine)and I for one fear the financial future of BRFC. At least support the team whilst we are still in a reasonable position and give whoever is in charge a chance

If anyone still stays away don't expect more big signings and wages. This is a one off to get back to the biggest pay deal in the history of football and many years to come back in the premiership where we belong.

Sherwood has been involved with everything that has gone at Spurs over the last few years and is Technical Director in all but name. He has helped raise Spurs from being just 'hopefuls' in the prem to being contenders for the title or at least a top four/five spot every season. Don't underestimate what he has achieved at Spurs behind the scenes.

Shearer has not got the same pedigree but he then he eats Beans and Chicken and paints fences. Think how useful that will be down at Brockhall. But seriously the man is magic, he is the best player I ever saw in a Rovers shirt by a country mile and his experience as a player at the top level for club and country is fantastic.

Either will do for me. And for the club.

The symptoms are still there down at Ewood but the Doctors are thousands of miles away in India. If they had any sense or idea, they would be over here in the U.K. attending to their sick baby (BRFC) before it becomes terminal. I wouldn't renew season tickets just yet. Venky's have seen that the fans mean what they say when it comes to boycotting games and it must have hurt them financially, so buy tickets for each and every game now according to how things go down at Ewood, then we have got the power not them, otherwise nothing will change, apart from getting rid of one bad manager only for another to take his place.

I gave only started reading the LT Website in the last couple of years after getting sick of the below par BFFC coverage on the BBC. I initially have to applaud the paper and Mr Cryer for their tireless quality reporting, however I have done concerns.

Mainly that this coverage of Mr Kean's reign and Venky's ownership is the main reason many in football no longer hold our club or us, the fans, in high regard. It is the easiest thing is the wide to report on negativity a day the easiest thing in the world to criticize when there is no chance you can have the opportunity to do better.

As fans were need to support the team. The entire team. Including the guys who are looking after affairs in the meantime. We need to get behind the players on tbe pitch.

As an example of the points I am trying to make, when we signed Homes, the bulk of the comments on this site were 100pc negative, so few months after and he is fans favourite on most other sites.

Please can through negative now ease off and let's go use on the positivity of the club players and fans.

I really don't think merlinrabbit speaks for anyone other than himself. I beleive the vast majority of fans who have stayed away, including myself, will return following Kean's departure. Sorry merlin but I think you're out of step with the rest of us mate.

Grayson or Keith Hill would be great for me. Looking forward to Saturday for a change, another four people for the Riverside. Party on!!!!!!

For me rovers have got to at least make an enquiry about Harry redknapp. I don't for one minute think we could lure him but not even enquiring shows a massive lack of ambition. For me he is only behind sir alex and wenger as one of the country's top managers.

Cant understand the big support from fans for Keith Hill to be apointed, he has only managed at lower league levels and his win % with Barnsley is 29.31% - We need to aim much higher than this!!

KEAN PLAYS THE BLAME GAME
Everything I have been telling you about Steve Kean over the past 18 months is now coming to fruition.
I have consistently said Kean “Plays the blame game” none more so than now.
As Kean prepares the ground for his constructive dismissal case, he has issued a statement suggesting the owners were interfering in team selection – NOT TRUE.
Kean is laying the foundations to take Mrs Anuradha Desai to the ‘cleaners’. Back in August Kean issued a statement to the National press saying that three new signings made on transfer deadline day were not of his choice. He went on to say that he had never even seen them play and had been signed by director Shebby Singh.
This heaped further indignation upon the Venky’s regime from the National press.
At the time I wondered why Kean had made such a statement knowing the club would be ridiculed by the press. I suggested on this site in an article headed, “KEAN TARGET’S SINGH” posted 13th September 2012. That he had released the statement to discredit Singh in order to fall back on, when results went wrong, and blame Singh.
But I was wrong. Kean was planning his escape route, he knew Mrs Desai (pic above) would not sack him, but he wanted out. The only way was to resign and sue for constructive dismissal (see article,KEAN RESIGNS ON LEGAL ADVICE, 29th September 2012). A far more profitable avenue for Kean.
Kean’s carefully press fed statements allied with the ridiculous points total allegedly set by Shebby Singh and Singh’s ill-advised rant at a pre-season fan’s forum, when he talked of sacking Kean, will be enough for Kean’s lawyers to have a ‘field day’ when the case comes to court.
Had Kean taken charge of the Rovers next three games starting at Charlton, he would have been seen to be incompliance with Shebby Singh and the owner’s ultimatum that they were monitoring his future.
Under this weight of evidence Kean will extract from Mrs Anuradha Desai a large part of the family fortune and make a ‘killing’.
The phone call to his hotel room at 5.30pm on Friday 28th September from his legal advisors told him so, and to resign immediately, which he did an hour or so later.
Kean is so gutless he did not have the decency to talk to the woman who has championed him, looked after him, fought for him and given him wealth he could never of dreamed of. Kean is now a millionaire in his own right because of Mrs Anuradha Desai.
The court case he is about to bring is despicable and just about sums up the man. But I have been telling this to Mrs Desai and her brothers for months. I do not know if she ever views ‘REG’ but I have sent her countless emails warning her, what Kean would do to her, her family and her club.

Just as no one listened to me back in December 2011 when I warned them what was about to happen to the club.
Now Mrs Desai is going to have to learn the hard way, she should have listened to Deputy Chief Executive Paul Hunt when he wanted Kean sacking in January 2012. Instead she sacked Paul Hunt. She should have listened to brother Ventkatesh when he wanted Kean sacking in May 2012. She should have listened to Shebby Singh when he asked her to sack Kean 2 weeks ago.
She should have sacked him and paid up his contract, it would have been a far cheaper option and Kean knew this.
The only consolation Anurandha Desai is that she is well rid of Kean. She will find she has a better club, supportive fans, better atmosphere at Ewood and if she is wise decent people working for her. There are those behind the scenes at Ewood who conspired with Kean. They need to be got rid of straight away.
Let me say Eric Black is not one of them – he is a good honest man – I hope a place can be found for him at Ewood Park if he chooses to stay. Steve Bruce at Hull City would be more than pleased to welcome Black to his backroom staff.

We'll not go back up now we've lost Kean. A huge mistake!

This team with one or two additions (maybe a CB and Left Fullback) is good enough to win this division easily under the right manager. He needs to be able to show the players that tactics are not a new kind of sweet and that we can win games if we use them (tactics) properly - and he needs to be able to motivate the team and get the team spirit up again.

Sherwood and/or Shearer could do that, their medals and experience could be the example/catalyst that this lot need to lift them-up and get them playing as a proper team again, one that is full of heart and strength and desire.

But shearer and sherwood have very very little experience of management. Just like kean. Don't understand why people keep touting these guys, previous players but with no affection for the club. Can you remember how quickly they both cleared off when given the chance? There are plenty of experienced managers out there to choose from

Sherwood has been involved with everything that has gone at Spurs over the last few years and is Technical Director in all but name. He has helped raise Spurs from being just 'hopefuls' in the prem to being contenders for the title or at least a top four/five spot every season. Don't underestimate what he has achieved at Spurs behind the scenes.

Shearer has not got the same pedigree but he then he eats Beans and Chicken and paints fences. Think how useful that will be down at Brockhall. But seriously the man is magic, he is the best player I ever saw in a Rovers shirt by a country mile and his experience as a player at the top level for club and country is fantastic.

Either will do for me. And for the club.

I think you'll find it was 'Arry who got Spus up the League. We don't want a technical director. Nor do we want someone who is 'magic', besides I believe Paul Daniels is otherwise engaged. We want a football MANGER. Shearer has about 10 games of MANAGEMENT experience, that's all, and I don't think he was particularly successful was he? I'm not surprised. Have you never listened to Shearer as a pundit on motd? How he still knows nothing about the game after the playing career he had is mind boggling. His analysis is woeful, superficial, with the insight of a retarded dingle. There are plenty of proven managers out there, let's pick one eh?
