inevitable - goodwillie apart - if we have kept hold of ollson/dann/robinson - then the venkys have backed the club - may not want to accept that but it is a fact - they are high earners with premier league qualities

Glad he's gone, he's rubbish and will fit right into Stokes hoof ball style. Rovers got what they could for him as having him around the place like a bad smell isn't doing anyone any good.

Rhodes in 8 million , NZongi out 3 million ,Goodwillie out on a free, Goodwillie very,very similar to Rhodes, very little difference in their game , both only play in the box,but both need to be trusted.

£3m for Nzonzi - Stoke have had our pants down there, absolute steal !!!

I think Jordan Rhodes is a great signing but when you look that Dempsey has only cost £6m, Lambert was available from Southampton for only £4m and Billy Sharp was available on a season long long for FREE - then we've definately over paid.

Sad to see Goodwillie go - £3.5m only a year ago and now gone on loan to one of the divisions smallest and most boke clubs - surely him and Petrovic will go down as our biggest ever "Laural and Hardie" signings - £6.5m the pair and they only lasted a year and we've virtully had to give both of them away just to get rid of them.

Glad to see Ollson staying (unless it goes through at last min) because having watched his brother getting skinned time after time on Tues at MK - well, truth is, without him we simply don't have a left back at the club able to play at the standard required, if we want to be at the top end of the table.

Overall, we'll lost some really good players but we could have lost more and we've bought some good players (real shame about Leon Best) and we've bought some has-beens and some Portugese never beens but over all - probably better then we could have really expected.

Point taken but his place in the pecking order has certainy fallen, granted he is playing in a Prem team but if he amongst others had pulled their collective fingers ou,t kept their elbows away from opponents faces and applied themselves to the job which was required this time last year then the Venkys prediction of challenging for Europe would not have been (chicken) pie in the sky with the investment that our Indian owners have now made. The sales sanctioned by Venkys would still have happened with the possible exception of Samba who lets face it thought he would walk into a top four club and ended up having to lower his sites and go for the roubles. Jones was always going to go and not many turn down Man U (Alan Shearer twice excepted.) Yak was a good bit of business as he has always succumbed to second season syndrome wherever he has been. Similiarly of all the people who wanted to leave the club in the summer the club have not been fighting off bids. It is now down to Robbo , Givet , Dann & Ollson to show how much they really want to play in the Prem by getting the Rovers back up.

I cannot believe some children are slating N'zonzi. The worst ever Manager, the whole team turfed out and treated like rubbish and some people think N'zonzie is bad, after him putting up with coco.

The fee will be £3m rising to £5m+ depending on appearances and I would imagine a sell on clause.Considering he made it clear he didn't want to play for Rovers/Kean again I think it's about right.
It's just a shame that we couldn't have loaned him out instead so when finally Kean runs out of excuses,the new manager could have started again with him.
The main concern I have is Kean's (dis)ability to get the best out of the 'best/most talented' players.I still think that with a decent run of games Goodwillie may have come good.To be fair to him he was never given that chance.Kean starting Edinho last week was Kean cutting his nose off to spite his face.Also any coach worth his salt should be able to get a tune out of Rochina who clearly has skill in abundance and as he briefly demonstrated last year an eye for goal too.The only players he does seem to have onside are those in the twilight of their career who know they wouldn't get a contract elsewhere like they are on now so are prepared to lick his a*se.
Finally I just pray that we are positive today and play two up top and don't flood the midfield with 'pensioners'...

It was the manager's fault (Kean) that we were relegated. Do you not think Allardyce would have kept us in the Prem ? Kean is NOT a football manager, never has been and never will be.

To be fair, I don't think Goodwillie was given half a chance. Every player needs a run of games to show what they can, or can not do. He never had that. For what it's worth I think the championship is about his level, so why get rid now.

Strangely, I agree; it won't be ALL SK's fault if we don't get promoted. The players know the fans are even blaming SK for the weather, so they do have a responsibility not to hide behind him if they are not performing.

That's not to say they should come out with an Orr-esque statement of support - that would mean nothing if they didn't then stand up and do their job to the best of their ability. Who cares if they support the manager? If they can all look themselves in the mirror and honestly say "I did everthing I could", that's all you can ask.

We all respect a player we can see is giving it his all, no matter how good he is.

You may be too young to remember so I think you need to check the record books for before he came to us my friend. Even last season, which has generally been recognised as a bit of a disaster for them in the league, they got to two finals, winning one (albeit only just). That would be as much as they could have reasonably expected no matter who was manager.

I thought his days as a manager were over when they reappointed him but as "nothings" go that's still not too shabby is it?

I don't want them as our owners but that's what we've got and we are In a far better state than a large Number of teams. If reports are to be believed Nzonzis fee is 3.5 million down with add ons to total 5 million over the next couple of seasons.

Give the club a break there made mistakes however theve gone out and put there money down I don't see anybody else in this division spending 8 mill on one player ... get behind the lads and give it a break

Gosport your opinion is slightly naieve in that as good as our squad is, we still have the same idiot managing them and also the amount of money spent on one player isn't an indicator for the amount of know-how that bunch have or of potential success. My mate pays £80 for work shoes but they aren't even worth it and they do the same job for him everyday as a £40 pairdo you really trust that dodgy Shebby and that weasle Kean can sensibly spend large amounts of money on footballers?
