Rovers chase Southampton and Swansea strikers

BLACKBURN Rovers have turned their attentions to Ricky Lambert and Luke Moore - after finally giving up their chase for Jordan Rhodes.

Rovers are desperate to add to their fire power before Friday's close of the transfer window, despite an unbeaten start to the campaign, and have conceded defeat in their efforts to sign Huddersfield's hot shot.

The Lancashire Telegraph understand Rovers are now plotting an ambitious swoop for Southampton front man Lambert, and are ready to pay significant cash to land him.

Thirty-year-old Lambert has been a key member of the Saints squad who have climbed into the Premier League and it would surprise many if they allowed him to depart.

Rovers are also hoping to land Swansea striker Luke Moore, 26, on loan, who has also enjoyed spells at West Brom and Aston Villa.

No chance Lambert would come and for the kind of cash we would have to pay. It wouldn't be worth it.

As for Moore, would be a shockingly poor signing.

Rhodes to Moore. Jesus Christ, could our owners and manager be any more clueless?!

Hahahaha Lambert to Rover's, give me a break. That's even more unbelievable then Rhodes coming. Kean don't even try it, we all know you ain't gonna get that deal to happen so there's no point sending your snaggle-toothed vultures out telling us all how you've put a big bid in. Luke 'one-goal-a-season' Moore on loan is more likely though. Unnecessary as we have forwards that are better already. Why not try a cheeky bid for WBA's Somen Tchoyi, he's powerful and skillfull, also capable of matchwinner's but doesn't play much so worth a gamble at our level.

Its scary that names like these are being linked with Rovers. Lambert would cost too much for a thirty year old and Moore is not a first team player, never has been anywhere.
If Steve Kean had kept his mouth shut we might have been able to persuade Huddersfield to let their man leave but after the 'Useless One' went public it just annoyed them and they stood firm.
Shebby Singh needs to put up or shut up, he has proved nothing so far and has made signings that anyone could make by landing two players, Murphy and Gomes, on longer term deals than anybody else would give them

Agree with everyone. Luke Moore is no better than the players we've got, wouldn't improve the squad. Lambert may be a good addition but he"s 30 and even though he's just had a couple of good years I don't think he's a guarantee to reproduce (didn't break too many pot before that) and he wouldn't be cheap if indeed they would let him go / he would come. I think the lad from City would be a much better option + he'd give them something a but different than the guys we've got currently.

How times have changed though, we'd have laughed at these signings 12 months ago!

You epitomise everything that Bonleh has to offer the world. An inbred, and thoroughly shameless town, the only thing going for you, is the hope that one day, your kind might aspire to be the dirt under the boots of the mighty rovers.... I very much doubt it, as our beloved Ewood is hallowed ground....

PATHETIC!

Rhodes would have happened if we'd have just said and offered £6m - but with these chepskates in charge - NO WAY!

Luke Moore - crap, Rickie Lambert - just another 'name' to tempt us - and we won't be - the only way Lambert would happen would be us offering Martin Olsson and Lambert being 'forced' out .. otherwise it's more smoke and mirrors.

Kean will probably then sign Warnock (he does want to come back here!) and claim that he's done a 'wonderful deal' .... but what we need is Olsson to stay and play on the left wing (that's Martin) with Warnock behind and a statement of intent to be made by paying £6m for Rhodes as well and finally keeping N'Zonzi - then we'll have enough quality, not just the 'numbers' that we have at present!

We've spent £4.5m on Best and Etuhu and already got £1m for the Yak, with Hoilett tribunal money to come - so WOW some backing Venkys!

The wage bill? Yes, sure Murphy is on big money - but let's not forget our big earners have already been cleared out of the club on our way down - Salgado, Samba, Nelsen, Emerton - et al - let's not forget other Prem. wages previously under Venkys - like Jermaine Jones and Santa Cruz ... we've got parachute payments too ....

We;ve been and continue to be sold down the river - these couple of results remind me of the turn of the year, drawing at Liv and winning at Man U - oh it will all be OK ... more 'hype', more broken promises and as we get towards another transfer window we acquire more cheap crap and then we'll sell our last bits of 'class' in Olsson (Martin) and N'Zonzi - after they're gone, tell me another player who could currently command anywhere near a £5m+ transfer fee!

Get with it Rovers fans - these results are papering over the cracks, this squad is mid-table Championship at best! Infact this squad isn't a patch on the one that finished 11th the last time we ended back in this league.

It's a DISGRACE the way Venkys are continuing to ignore the fans - just a shame 8,500 of you renewed your season tickets - a gate of 5,000 of which 2,000 were Leicester fans - would have been even funnier!

I'll make a pledge now - if Kean is sacked I'll go to every single home game for the remainder of this season like thousands of others ... however who in there right mind would now take this job?

Venkys would seemingly appoint another 'yes' man - we still aren't getting any 'straight' answers! I'm starting to think that Shebby is just a 'smoke screen' for more Venkys mayhem - while they continue to asset strip our once great and proud club aided and abetted by Keanochio ... I'm sick of all the lies!

Maybe it's just my age showing but I seriously have no idea what this post is supposed to say! I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you intended to reply to my original comment both factually and legibly.

However, I'm guessing that as you sat there staring at the monitor, pondering how to get your point across as insightfully as possible, the glare off the screen accentuated your broken nose and harelip, thus awakening carnal desires within your sister who was strewn across a p*ss-stained mattress on the other side of the family's decadent bedsit.

Concentrating solely on our exchange you were unaware that your sister had slipped out of her knock-off, turquoise shell suit - made from imitation nylon - and was now stood behind you wearing nothing but a verruca sock and a claret coloured strap-on.

Still unsure what to say, you decided to go and get a drink out of the toilet. It was then, as you stood up from your mother - who'd been acting as a makeshift seat - that your sister pounced. Grabbing you by the back of the neck she drove your face into the keyboard, all the while untying the knot in the string that was holding your flares up.

As soon as your hand-me-down leg wear fell around your ankles, and because it was your brother's week to wear the Y-fronts, you were ready to be taken. You tried to fight it but your sister, who'd started shaving five years before you, was far too strong. Also, secretly, you enjoyed it. Bang! She rammed your face back into the keyboard, ran her fingers through her hair to grease them up, then proceeded to insert all 6 digits up your back passage.

Replacing her shovel-like hand with the claret coloured strap-on she continued gripping you by the neck and ramming your face into the keyboard. Each time she screamed at you, "who's your daddy?!", to which you replied, "grandad is, grandad is!"

That is the only way I can explain the bizarre arrangement of characters and numbers in your reply to my post.

John Gudetti from City would be awesome but as we know the owners won't want to pay that sort of fee - I can only suggest that a move for Simon Church from Reading would make much more sence than Moore who holds a terrible record at all the clubs he has been.

I was shot down the other week for suggesting that we should be pursuing Guddeti rather than Rhodes - mark my words if we sign him (that may well be on loan) and he stays fit we go up

Recommend the interview with a certain Kieth Hill on the match between Brighton v Barnsley on BBC sport site.

Maybe someone could take a leave out of this fellows book with an honest assessment of his teams performance.

Will be interesting what the post match comments will be after BRFC have played them ?

BOOM! Funniest post I've read since one of Hasslems about 6 months ago, pure genius.

Hi, I'm sorry but like others on here I am having trouble working out what you are talking about.
I tried to paste your comment in google translate but alas, MONG is, as yet, an unsupported language.
Have you had a stroke, can you raise both arms? Its hard to tell as your constant drooling could fool one into thinking you are in need of the emergency services.
You certainly back up the Bumley stereotype profile.

Up to now they have bankrolled the shortfall by wholesale selling of the better players, there is only so long you can do that.
When the tipping point comes and Venkys fail to come forward with the cash that is the point when admin beckons.
Portsmouth, Rangers etc. did not go the admin because of fan attendance.

I think the longer fans stay away the less likely they will return . True some will return but not the thousands like people are saying . And I can understand why people are staying away but I can't imagine a sat without going to Ewood .

With £16m parachute for next two seasons and £8m two seasons after plus all the player sales, bad buys and millions in agent fees if Rovers get in financial trouble it is 100% down to Kean and Venkys.

Rovers fans withholding ST cash, Shirt sposorship, business sponsorship, hospitality etc etc see the future without Kean and a trusted manager guiding our deals and future.

Just seen the highlights on BBC - well played Robbo but boy did that stadium look empty - never seen it so empty for a league game. If any rovers fan thinks that is OK that you are toatlly deluded. Scrapping for Swansea's cast off's, how has it come to this? Although Swansea are a great example of a relatively small but well run club with good management and that has trickled down to the performances on the pitch. Respect to Swansea, we should try to emulate their success and not just on the pitch.

It don't matter who WE would want it's pretty **** obvious now that the odious one is going nowhere !

My take is that I will never credit this divisive b'strd with anything, but I will find it in me eventually to work with this and return to Ewood were I can return and watch the shirt, the badge and players that I adore.

One satisfaction I can take in this is that if he doesn't succeed hen he must be fired, although that said - He as already failed countless times !

I've watched my team fail on numerous occasions and never felt the need not to attend until this little matter reared it's ugly head.

We can, if it is to believed, look forward to successful days thus we can only watch and wait to see if he can deliver ?

How many times has AC commented that Kean likes and wants a player, but the move has been stopped?
Looks to me as if Kean has lost a lot of the power which kept him in a job last season, and that one slip will cost him his job.Well, hope so anyway.
Having said that,i haven't seen a Rovers team throw their bodies at shots like they did yesterday, since Hughes first took over. They're definitely playing for him.
Think we're limited as to a potential replacement if and when he does go.
Neil McDonald was bitter when he left, thinking the job should have been his.We played some good stuff under him when Sam was ill,and he was apparently popular with the squad, many of whom are still here.
Whether he could be tempted back with all that has happened is another matter.

Of course you taking me meaning a downs syndrome is an insult to your friend. Who would have thought of you thinking like that about a friend, very sad and exposed of you. I was of course referring to someone from mongolia who uses a different language to us. I'm glad your friend has a hood, it will keep him dry when it rains.

Im a burnley fan, and would love us to do the double over rovers and finish above you in the league. But i have to agree that is a funny post and "the proud burnley lad" is an embarassment and talking pure ****. i have to congratulate you on your vivid imagination.

Each time she screamed at you, "who's your daddy?!", to which you replied, "grandad is, grandad is!" That is the only way I can explain the bizarre arrangement of characters and numbers in your reply to my post.[/p]
Im a burnley fan, and would love us to do the double over rovers and finish above you in the league. But i have to agree that is a funny post and "the proud burnley lad" is an embarassment and talking pure ****. i have to congratulate you on your vivid imagination. kingy999

Your post is an insult to suffers of Downs Syndrome. A very hood friend of mine has Downs but talks a lot more sense that any of the d'heads bating each other.

Haven't you got some greenery that you should be wirrying about tosspot.

Just in case you fiorget your new resolution, here's a reminder:

KEAN OUT

Cue filth.
It appears in your haste to type bullsh't you are falling over your own fingers. Looks like you may have banged your head on one post then the other.
Enjoy
Yours truly
one of the 8000.
Quick, phones ringing.

Somebody's kettle's broken, hurry up or you'll miss your quota for the day.

You'll have to wait a long time before you can sing "Steve Kean's Blue and White Army", you and the couple of marked-out pillks from Derby.
Nurse!

Absolutely spot on, had the gates have been 5 or 6k he would have been sacked by the next home game.

Thats all it needed, we have been badly let down by 8000.

The 10,000 wont be moved.

I think the longer fans stay away the less likely they will return . True some will return but not the thousands like people are saying . And I can understand why people are staying away but I can't imagine a sat without going to Ewood .
Could you not have managed to stay away for 2 or 3 games ?

Is that four transfer windows we have had since Venkys' took over. And didn't MRS Desai say they would invest 5 million every window ? On my reckoning that's 20 million of their own money they should have invested for players. I don't think they've invested a penny of their own. If I'm wrong, I stand to be corrected.

Yes I did just like I have done for many many years. Even in the days when we were a million miles from the top league.

You are wrong. You wouldnt keep taking your kid to a school run as Venkys run Rovers so why is it acceptable to keep subscribing to Venkys? If the school goveners and head teacher were as poor and suspect as venkys and Kean are, and the Ofsted result relegated the school from outstanding to satisfactory you would I assume be going mad and be unprepared to accept it. These guys are sleaze bags and conmen. They are manipulating your loyalty. I dont get why so many are prepared to sweep aside moral standards. It is purely because they enjoy live football.

If live football is the buzz, there are loads of choices in the North West.
I refuse to go to Ewood while Kean is in charge, I hate the man beyond words (and others too)
Didn't go to a game yesterday but was at Stanley mid-week, will be at Wigan on Saturday, Rochdale the following week, Fleetwood the next and then Stanley the next.
Already booked a hospitality at Anfield for the missus v Wigan Athletic and now have a contact for tickets at Anfield (but not Manure etc).
I'm not prepared to sit home and bemoan not going to Ewood, life's too short and other options are available.

Try it sometime, watching a live game without the emotional involvement is very rewarding.

Obviously look forward to when I am happy to return to Ewood.

Shame on the fans staying away hiding behind club turmoil when in fact they are PREMIER LEAGUE GLORY HUNTERS and are not in the slightest bit interested now that we are no longer in it. Who else but Dingles would be so hell bent on emptying Ewood

Excellent earlier posting by "HARRIME" is all in a nutshell right now.
Venky & Co would only consider a last minutes "7.00pm special @ Morrison,s" deal and do not to expect anything more from conman Kean and Co.
(Possibly SELL one get two free....)
Rhodes was NEVER going to happen....LAMBERT is NEVER going to happen.
Has stated before by many..."who would come and play @ Ewood right now...and with conman Kean has the Manager".

Only desperado "seasoned" pro,s looking for an extra season or two....OR young "out of work" Portuguese players it seem !

If they were serious, there is a need for 2/4 experienced players in their mid-twenties, hungry to show they have still much to offer back in the Premier level...
Singh is NEVER going to be the saviour many are hoping for....the whole problem stems from the Venky,s...so sit back and take in another frustrating season...

Absolutely spot on, had the gates have been 5 or 6k he would have been sacked by the next home game.

Thats all it needed, we have been badly let down by 8000.

The 10,000 wont be moved.
Did you keep going last season?
Yes I did just like I have done for many many years. Even in the days when we were a million miles from the top league.

Had some hard times but it was still my club, now I feel very distant, but I will be back when he has left.

The only thing staying away will achieve is Administration, ruin and more relegation.
Sheep like Rovers "fans" buy in to the boycott bull. They dont realise that it is a Dingle led conspiracy to subvert our club and to try to ruin it
Who else but Dingles would be so hell bent on emptying Ewood
Real fans can see no benefit.
It seems obvious and quite clear that "Wild Rover" is either Hendry or Kean or someone who is getting paid by them, Wild Rover instantly turns on any comments against these pair of bandits that live next to each other in Lytham , drink together, gamble together, a cunning and jolly pair, a drunken driver and a gambler and robber of old peoples life savings.
For Gods sake bring integrity and decency back to ROVERS.

So I am a bit confused, is you a Liverpool fan, a Stanley fan, a Wigan fan or a Rochdale fan maybe?
Certainly Not a Rovers fan....

Be happy when you go on Ewood and let Kean know what a good job he's doing. Support the team or support Kean?

Had some hard times but it was still my club, now I feel very distant, but I will be back when he has left.
....but he was manager last season,so why attend the Wigan game, but not the Hull game?
And your point is ??????

Old Rover - do not fear for the survival of BRFC -

We will always be there to support the club !

All that as ever been asked of these people is to put in place a foundation that they so cruelly ripped away creating more than uncertain times for our club, and thousands of folk will return en masse.

Arte et labore
I think the longer fans stay away the less likely they will return . True some will return but not the thousands like people are saying . And I can understand why people are staying away but I can't imagine a sat without going to Ewood .
Could you not have managed to stay away for 2 or 3 games ?
Why would I , look at the facts I see people write lets get Blackburn people owning the club . Correct me if I'm wrong didn't the walkers own us before , they have more money than anybody round here and they are local people , but they wanted out and took venkys money and ran to the hills. So all you who say lets get the club back tell me how this is going to happen ? I would love that to happen but I'm a realist and know that's not going to happen , we are not a big club and certainly not a marketable club at the moment . Staying away did come into my mind if it was only sort term but I don't see anybody buying us for a long time , so I saw no sense in doing that . I will get slagged off for my comments but that's how I see it .

There are some on here,Lancs pensioner and Stone Island to name but two,who chose to boycott last season. As i've said before, hats off to 'em.
If you don't want to go this season, then don't go.But don't then come on here calling those who still feel it's right to attend matches.
You're too late,the bandwagon's gone.

I'm sick of all the lies![/p]
Absolutely spot on, had the gates have been 5 or 6k he would have been sacked by the next home game. Thats all it needed, we have been badly let down by 8000.

I think you will find all this was started by attacks on the none attenders, I am not prepared to stand back and allow them to be called sh?t fans and not real Rovers supporters.

Believe me many of the none attenders are rock solid supporters of many years, who would never have turned their back on the club in any other circumstances.

Season ticket money is absolutely nothing to Venky's.

From a financial point of view, they wouldn't care if the stadium was empty. The money they get from other avenues (not least player sales) absolutely dwarfs season ticket income.

As for 'real fans', absolutely no such thing and it's both childish and stupid to suggest otherwise.
A Rovers fan is a Rovers fan, whether you've been supporting them for 95 years, like these old codgers who talk about 'Torquay away in 1945' like it's some sort of war story, or you've only ever been to one game in your life.

And besides, would a 'real fan' choose to support anything to do with this regime, as it openly and blatently crushes everything good about our football club...?

A Darener says...

I wish we could turn the clock back two years. Nobody then had any idea where we would be today. A team in disarray, a manager from hell, a set of back room staff who seem to have no idea how to stop Kean from his path of destruction. A set of owners seemingly oblivious to the doom and gloom surrounding the club. Fans at each others throats. Media laughing at us. And worst of all no end in sight to the debacle before us.
