Kean insists there is more to come from Blackburn Rovers

STEVE Kean believes there is a lot more to come from his Blackburn Rovers side after seeing them make their best start to a campaign for more than a decade.

Morten Gamst Pedersen's 79th minute winner was enough to earn the hosts a fortuitous 2-1 win over Leicester City, giving them seven points from their first three games.

Kean said: "I don't know if it was fortunate. When you have the quality we do in the side, like Nuno Gomes and Morten Pedersen, they can produce something special.

"I would say we were not in full flow but that is the sign of a good team.

"If we are not right at the top end but can still grind out results, it is worth saying we were only eight minutes and an unfortunate own goal away from three wins.

"I think that bodes well. It is a solid start and I think there is a lot more to come."

The team are winning inspite of Kean not because of him. Unlucky own goal nothing, we would have won at Ipswich if we had a manager who recognised we were too deep and did something about it. The reason the team is not firing on all cylinders is the clown in the dugout who is tactically clueless and fails game after game to play to our strengths. Sack him now before the bubble bursts.

Oh,dear 7 points out of 9 and the natives are still restless! When you look at the longer view there is more misery to come. It is a little pointless trying to get rid of the manager. We need to get rid of the reason he's here.. Until Venkys leave town things will never, ever return to normal. Eventually, the Indians will appear 'normal'. Do they have kids to hand over the club to? Think in those terms! \it could be a long, long road to sanity!

Given how Riberio proved he keeps the ball so well and is passing is almost 100% accurate, he doesn't pass the ball too quickly either so can control the game and tempo as he wishes, should he not play in the centre of midfield? If Kean was a wise in tactics he should consider this.

Not sure bburnrover exactly what Blackpool's result has to do with the Rovers? Maybe you know of a special rule in the championship where it says that we not only have to get results - but that we have to beat every other teams results? Where does that leave Ipswich then under this special rule, as they beat Watford in midweek? The only games that matter are the ones the Rovers play. The only scores that matter are the ones in the Rovers matches.Maybe it would be better if you concentrated on that instead of watching for the results of other teams to try and make a nonsensical point.

So far so good - seven points out of nine and a long way from reaching our best.

Rochina showed some quality when he came on although he was clearly short of match fitness and he will devastate defences at this level. Goodwillie looked up for it and should have scored at the death to have made it 3-1. That would have been unbelievable but let's just go with it. It's about time we had some good fortune alongside the grind.

Wins bring confidence and the performances will only get better.

Nobody wants Kean at the Club but even if the resuts are in spite of him they are cause for joy.

You can't beat that winning feeling.

In deepest Italy at the moment relying on text messages from mates at the match and an intermittent signal from wiziwig. It's difficult to judge, but everyone says it was a fortunate win, Man U also had a fortunate win against Fulham, they will have many more fortunate wins as they get to the top or near to the top of the Premiership, that's the reality of football. Blackpool are flying, playing extremely well under an excellent manager, but that level is not easy to maintain.

Many people in modern Britain mistake being negative and cynical for being realistic, its the fashion. The reality is, as I have posted many times over the last year, that boycotts and demonstrations make no difference to the Venkys. For them saving face in their own country is of paramount importance, they could not care less about fans boycotting matches. The reality now is that Venkys look like owning Rovers for many years, Mrs.D feels sorry for SK, because of all the stick he took, so he didn't even lose his job in last years debacle and he doesn't look like losing it in the near future. I'm afraid you boys doing the saturday afternoon Debenham's run with the wives will be doing it for a long long time for absolutely nothing.

On the plus side we have had 3 good results, even though performances have been poor. The administration of the club now looks much better than last year and I am sure that I saw us try to pass the ball on at least 4 occasions during yesterdays match. The defence looks solid, Givet giving everything as usual. Except for the bad back pass (Although Robbo was asleep on his line), Dann played well. I like Jason Lowe on the right side of midfield, he's a good athlete and protects the full back. wish we had bought a good strong left back.

I'm not a Danny Murphy fan, I can't remember him ever playing well against us, but I can understand why we bought him. Perhaps because of his reputation teams will give us more respect than we deserve. Etutu looks an excellent signing, we could certainly have done with him last year. We look weak going forward, pity Richards and Best are not fit to play at the same time. I would like to see Rochina get a run of games, he still looks like he could make an excellent player given the chance.

The reality is that getting promoted is a tough tough job, Sam Allardyce had by far the best squad last season with a lot more money than the other team, but he only made it by the skin of his teeth. None of us are confident that SK can guide the team to promotion, many others have already said this before, but the stay away fans are achieving absolutely nothing, they are only hurting themselves by not going to matches. Forget the owners and the manager and support your team.

Given how Riberio proved he keeps the ball so well and is passing is almost 100% accurate, he doesn't pass the ball too quickly either so can control the game and tempo as he wishes, should he not play in the centre of midfield? If Kean was a wise in tactics he should consider this.

Despite the very vocal minority who would rather sit at home and moan about our manager, than attend matches and do what normal fans do (like supporting the team and getting behind the players), this is a very satisfactory start to the season, and the majority of us are HAPPY that we won yesterday, and are now third in the table.

I get the impression there are so-called Rovers fans on here who would rather see us lose, which at the end of the day shows their true wishy-washy colours. I'm a Rovers fan through thick and thin, and so are many others, boycotting games is childish and doesn't help our lads.

Alsothe "Kean out" chants at games are very tiresome and it affects our players, but thankfully they are decreasing game by game. All the players can do is keep picking up points and then maybe these numpties will realise their mistake and finally shutup and return to the fold.

By all means the moaners are free to run their petty online campaigns, but once in the stadium leave the campaigning behind and get behind our lads!

My expectations were at the lowest ever at the start of the season and I would still like to see a different manager - but having gone to the first 2 home games I have to say that despit two mediocre performances what has spoiled the enjoyment more than anything is the tiresome Kean Out chants. The lads are winning lets give them encouragement.
The football isn't the most fluent yet but there are some good signs - Robinson plays the ball out, we don't launch every free kick into the opposition box, we keep possession better (OK a bit too slow and sideways but given the confidence of winning that will get better). Because we keep possession the back 4 aren't under constant pressure. We have a stronger centre midfield. Non Gomes has class, shame we don't have Best and C K-R is injured. We just need to get Rochina and Goodwillie with ganes under their belt. Two away games coming up but at least we can face them with some hope - unlike last season.

Tell us what percenage of your 12000 missing ST holders are absent as a result of the meaningless 'boycott'?

If you look at Bolton, as a comparable club both geographically and as a club having suffered relegation last season, their average attendance so far this season is also significantly down - by 6200 or 26%. There is no Kean / Venkys factor there.

Clearly, and understandbly, there are those who decline to buy a season ticket as a consequence of their hatred of Kean and Venkys but to suggest that that number is anywhere near 12000 does you little credit.

You cannot merely choose to ignore the other factors that have led to people staying away nor should you hijack them to validate your own version of reality.

Because we keep possession the back 4 aren't under constant pressure. We have a stronger centre midfield. Non Gomes has class, shame we don't have Best and C K-R is injured.

Your wasting your time, the 10,000 will not fall for the cr@p and propaganda anymore. We will be back to support OUR club when it has been cleansed.

We are the REAL fans, prepared to make sacrifices for the long term good of BRFC
You are NOT representative of the real fans. Just a yobbish minority.

You claim to be a real fan but you won't go to our games and support our team?

How arrogant are you, REAL fans my ar5e./

Rovers just have to keep getting a win here a draw there and we'll see the fans coming back. The backlash against the Kean Out brigade is starting already.
Agreed mate, the Kean Out brigade is losing power week after week.

It's all about results on the pitch, and our team is doing the business!

Now bring on the "He's a keane lover, or a dingle, or your english is awful. All you Glen Mullin brigade stay away the rest of us can enjoy a promotion push and maybe party come end of season
Wrigglers get real!

Yes it does effect them, It seems the more abuse we give Kean the better results we get. I believe the players know this and appreciate it.
More Kean out please!

Ha ha thats comical, How do you come to the conclusion that the more abuse you give kean then better the result? If thats the case why arent we playing champions league football this season? Oh thats right it has a negative impact on the team. As for the Mullan lover saying whoever gives him grief is an idiot. Is this the same Glen Mullan that was saying the club would be in administration last january, the same mullan that said the players wouldnt be paid in february? Its all true he had the evidence to prove it but if you wanted to see it you had to go and buy it all like he did. The guy is a joke. I bet there isnt many of the 10k that are stayin away remember the cliub before Jack walkers millions. paper fans the lot of them

Thanks for the info, Shebby
