TEAM NEWS: Edinho handed Blackburn Rovers debut

Steve Kean rings the changes to his Blackburn Rovers side that took on Hull mid-week, as he tries to deliver a more convincing win over today’s opponents Leicester, writes Laura-Jayne Gorse.

Rovers are without their scoring hero from Wednesday night as Colin Kazim-Richards sits out with a knee injury he picked up late on in the game.

Full debuts go to Edinho and Bruno Ribeiro, with a first home start of the season handed to Morten Gamst Perdersen.

Fabio Nunes drops to the bench after his first appearance at Ewood Park on Wednesday night.

Rovers are looking for the second successive home win, alongside the point they earned away at Ipswich on the opening day of the season, to secure their best start to a league campaign in 12 years.

Why is Kean freezing out Rochina thats the first question. He hasnt started a game since being man of the match against Man U.

He clearly doesnt rate Goodwillie either and should just sell him now. He clearly wont be getting any game time this season or ever.

The second thing is does Kean think a midfield of Murphy, Etuhu and Pedersen is going to have the legs? Maybe 2 over 30's, but three of them, with also Gomes as one of the strikers and you have some creaky old bones.

Games like this are perfect examples - Venky's should understand by now this is happening week in week out. By operating a Rovers side with a village choir boys league standard of manager who is so out of his depth its unreal then surely even they must see this will not win matches or inspire confidence in players or fans.

What ever spin puts on the win the fact is they were very very very lucky to win. Leicester must go home thinking they have been mugged. The defence was so reliant on goalmouth clearances it was like the Alamo at times. The ground looked like and sounded like a morgue! Well done to the stay aways. Praise the team, but not the tactics. Giver was magnificent, Murphy resolute in defence, Dann suspect. Pedersen, solid. Robbo saved us many times. Olson steady. Goodwillie and Rochina did what they could when on the pitch.

I hope the owners were watching. Even they must realise the win was down to the team not the manager. The Rovers fans that stayed away are happy at the result I hope! They should also be happy at the sight that greeted the tv viewers, more spaces than fans. Even less fans than Wednesday's match.

Pedersen, although he scored a great goal was carried throughout the match. Forever losing possession... Being caught out of position and just poor overall. We got very very lucky to get anything out of that game. Only bright note was Bruno. Bloodie hell how good is that little fella? Reminds me of David Thompson on the right wing. Kean has no idea... Still.
