Kazim-Richards completes Rovers move

Blackburn Rovers have completed the loan signing of Colin Kazim-Richards from Galatasaray.

The Turkish international striker joins on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old becomes Rovers’ eighth signing of a busy summer for manager Steve Kean.

He started his career with Bury, before enjoying short spells with Brighton and Sheffield United.

In June 2007, he joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce, who he helped reach the Champions League quarter-finals a year later, scoring in the 2-1 first leg victory over Chelsea.

After three-and-a-half seasons with Fenerbahce, including a loan spell with Toulouse, Colin made the move to their bitter local rivals Galatasaray in January 2011.

Shortly after arriving, the versatile forward famously scored the first derby goal in Galatasaray’s new stadium against his former club.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Olympiakos, where he won the league and cup double, before returning to Galatasaray, where he also picked up a Turkish league winners’ medal.

Colin, who has 36 international caps to his name, has been on trial with Rovers since the pre-season trip to Holland and after finalising his loan switch, he will now feature in Rovers’ final friendly against Cork City this Sunday.

apologies for this post having nothing to do with the article but I cant help getting the feeling that the Rhodes deal may be a case of Rovers going for the wrong target - he got allot of goals last year but they were at league one level . . . . . the lad Guidetti from City scored 20 goals in 23 games in the top Dutch division - assuming of course the club are serious about adding another body at all

Good luck Colin, leave the attitude in Turkey & you have a good chance to make it work over here

Another unknown signing, I expect another roberts/benjani coming onto the pitch and walking around ineffectually for 90mins. We shoudnt waste pitch time on a loan signing when goodwillie (our player) needs pitch time.

Goodwillie was never given a chance last year by con man kean and because of this his confidence level fell.
When is this idiot of a manager going to sign a quality defender as this is where our major problem was last year.
Look forward to watching geoff stelling on sky next weekend with my st money still in my pocket.

Very underwelming signing.

He has failed at every club he has ever played at and has a worse goalscoring record than Jason Roberts.

The only surprising thing about him is that he has been picked for Turkey 35 times - scoring a paltry 2 goals in the process.

This is NOT the calabre of signing that is going to frighten the best 5 or 6 teams in the championship (unlike Leon Best/Jordon Rhodes which are strikers that the other best clubs in the division would be worried by).

A typical Kean, "Anthony Modeste" signing - still, I'm sure the agent and manager got a nice kick-back for the loan to go through.

Colin Kazim Richards, has career statistics that hardly jump off the page, with a very bad reputation!
-
He is not a player that we need at all in the slightest, is about the 20th first team midfielder we now have at the club FFS.
-
Karl sign a defender please, and sell Paul Robinson

They are not fit to own a football club. It looks very likely that they are putting together a team that will fail again, especially with the clown making key decisions.

Why does the club have to suffer another season before the governing body listens?

On paper we have a weak defence, after some lower league oposition pre season,it still looks bad, and they have brought in more attackers, are they trying to break the record for fastest drop through the leagues?

It will be a miracle if they stay in the league.

don't knock the lad before you even see him play...I don't think he has been signed as our number one striker but he could be a very useful squad addition. He is certainly an experienced player and picked up two league winners medals and a cup winners medal last season. It is that kind of experience that that will help to get out of this league. That and getting shut of the odious one of course. KO.N.

Simon Grayson was the man that turned around Blackpool after Hendry made a pigs arse out of his managership with them .

Hendry got the sack at Blackpool 5 games before the season ended ,and Blackpool were GOING down, Grayson took over and Blackpool won 4 out of the last 5 and kept them up.
Grayson great coach , Hendry good with the media about all.

Interestingly Colin was at West Ham a couple of weeks ago but it appears they passed on him. As mentioned earlier he does have a few scandals attributed to him but successfully sued the papers that reported the sex one but I suggest there's no smoke without fire. Just hope he's not found in a field drinking beer with horses?

Nota problem Road Runner, it appears though that SSN are only reporting this because HT have only just announced the rejection of the first bid.

2nd bid is in the 5m plus substabtial addons including a profit share clause should Rovers sell him on in the future at a higher price I'm led to believe. Trying to stay positive only because I want to see Rhodes in the Blue and White.. oh yeah!

Let "Ronnie" explain himself. I feel it very offensive that he/she should use the "alias" of such a well respected Rovers player, and come out with such offensive comments, not just in this case, but in many others. He/she should be ashamed of him/herself, or perhaps he/she is a dingle, and I would expect such attitude.

In short - change your alias, if you must, and keep the hallowed name of Ronnie Clayton away from such comments.

Welcome C.Kazim, I feel he is going to fill the gap of Yakubu, his style of shooting the ball and controled move is same like Yak. I saw few goals for Kazim when he played for turkey was amazing.........It is a very good chance to make a mark in championship with a very good forward lineup in the likes of Gomes/Best/Kazim/Goo
dwillie/Rochina/"one more waiting".....
