Blackburn Rovers chase for Silva is off

BLACKBURN Rovers’ long-running chase for Portuguese midfielder Adrien Silva is finally over after Sporting Lisbon turned down their £750,000 bid for him.
The 23-year-old’s future had been uncertain for several weeks now, with the player and Sporting locked in talks about a new deal, leaving Rovers hopeful of securing his signature.
Rovers’ offer had been on the table for more than a fortnight but yesterday’s rejection will see the Ewood Park outfit give up their hunt.
Meanwhile want-away midfielder Steven Nzonzi is still expected to join Sevilla on a season long loan imminently, after Rovers agreed to his temporary exit.
The club remain open to any permanent offers for him but, with no-one likely to meet their valuation of up to £10million, a loan switch to Sevilla remains the likely option.

Yes all the players who are not good enough want to stay Kean, all of the best players have gone or are going shortly, we had built a good young squad but that squad has been completelly dismantled due to your and Venky's total incompetence!
Sign some quality players by paying the going rate instead of penny pinching!, the only reason we are in this position is because of you and that clown you call a manager.

If you want decent players then pay the rate,if you want cheap rubbish carry on.
Still fearing a struggle this season as no defenders have been bough or even mentioned and we were pathetic last season.
Next season is looking ilke the last season.
What will happen if we lose 3 or 4 of our first 5 games,me thinks nothing cos Shebby won't/can,t sack Kean.
So far i'm still thinking same old performances as last season against so called weaker teams.

So we sell asmba for 12 and even taking into account a 25% hertha berlin sell on clause would give us 8 million. So we offer 750k to supplement a free transfer? Abd before any of you say the 8 million is including any wage, were we not paying samba before he went?

So Venky's are ambitious for Rovers to bounce back to the Premiership next season and they aren't willing to pony up more than £750,000 for a player we so desperately wanted? Ambitious my a***. We've spent a fraction of what we spent last season (on players who couldn't keep us in the Premiership).

Silva was only using the Rovers as a bargaining tool for an improved contract. He never had any intention of coming. But even that apart with Kean as manager we couldn't attract any footballer of note!
