I am not sure if you are trying to be amusing here. I guess so as Hoillet and Olsson are our 2 left wingers and neither are likely to be here this year.

Totally bizarre signing. Steve Kean says he has "Clear potential" and will be pushing for a place in the senior squad.... so basically he will be in the reserves? One for the future maybe? Hope he turns up and plays like a young Damien Duff, but who knows what we're getting.

Any news on Kean leaving before the season starts or are Venky's going to play with a handicap again in the Championship.

Portiminense, they are reportedly in the 3rd division in Portugal and one of the few professional teams based in the Algarve region. Nunes was not even registered as a first team player in 2012.

What I can't understand is that last time i checked all his stats he was apparently joining CSKA Sofia, what is clear is that he has played for Parmas youth system in Italy at some point in the last few years.

Strange how all the information on http://www.transferm
arkt.co.uk/ has suddenly disappeared about this player since I commented about him a few days ago.

Portimonense is perfectly correct and they are in the second division. There are only two divisions in the Portiuguese League.

Get your facts right if you are going to snipe at others.

Some fans are not prepared to give any new signing a chance. Presumably the same ones who saw fit to boo and barrack our own players last season.

Some people are only happy when they are complaining. We have enough to complain about without inventing stuff - incorrectly.

Another player for nothing! If he is signing a new left winger it means that Venky's are on course to cash in on Ollson. Still on the money making game. No interest in keeping existing players if they can get a fee. All waste of time anyway with Kean - everyone on the terraces thought Kean would turn out to be rubbish and he did. League 1 here we come. Th Venky's will keep him till they have got the last bit of cash out of Ewood that they can. They will then leave and take him with them, and not before. The season is over for us before it begins with Kean still in charge. He will get a hot reception when he comes out of the tunnel for the Hull game.

you are so right with that statement, problem is on here people quote incorrect fact's and so called knowledge and know nothing. Any one who has a dissenting opinion has to go, hence the clear out last season and it will start again soon now they have got the replacements in.

Not saying we should all love Venkys and Kean just think we should support rovers no matter what rtid!

Portimonense were in the Liga Organgina but were relegated this season to the third tier of the Portuguese football pyramid, which is bizarrely called the Segunda Divisao. So get your facts right before giving out to others please.

2 or 3 seasons ago, when we had quite a strong premier squad, the signing of these Portuguese players would have been an interesting development, but we would also have been looking to strengthen the first team with proven players.
.
Now we haven't got a single player who could walk into a premier league side (hoilett and olsson are leaving) and Murphy and Best are spoken about by the manager as if they are an answer to the problem, instead of yet more squad players. Our sites are considerably lower than they were 2 or 3 seasons ago. At best we have a team full of players just good enough to maintain Championship status. At worse, with Kean's selection, substitutions and tactics, we'll struggle to stay in the division.
.
Don't be blinded by all the transfer movement. It's only happening now because our best players have still not left. After next week, or when they leave, Kean will not be able to attract even his mates to Rovers. So this is as good as it gets. The squad will not improve again, and there isn't one player who could walk into a premier league side unless they had lots of injuries.

I am not sure if you are trying to be amusing here. I guess so as Hoillet and Olsson are our 2 left wingers and neither are likely to be here this year.
Olsson is a left back and Hoilett was used as a striker along side Yakubu. Pederson was on the left wing. Try and learn a bit about the game before embarrassing and humiliating yourself in public....and NO...I'm not trying to be amusing. Nothing to laugh about with this clown in charge!
I should have said 'our 2 best left wingers'. If you had watched Rovers you would know that Olsson (Martin) is best as a midfielder than a defender and (IMHO) was only played as defender as we hadn't got a left back. You would also have noticed 'Pedersen' on the back of one of the shirts. There is no 'Pederson' at the Rovers. Hoillet has been played as a left winger. Both are possibly our fastest players and were our best counter attacking threats. Pedersen is not going to provide that threat. Whether this boy is the answer remains to be seen but a fast left winger would be an obvious requirement if Olsson and Hoillet leave.

However, as Rovers fans we've become accustomed to a "kick in the teeth" moment, which may appear when the outgoings are revealed eventually!

So.... I don't want to be negative but let's wait until the squad for the campaign is fully revealed, before we start making predictions for the season. Past history makes us cautious.

But, but Danny Murphy told us that Venkys had had told him that all of our best players are staying. Surely they can't have been telling him fibs can they? Or has that statement by Danny get as much credibility as the one he made about Rovers players purposefully injuring the opposition?

Am I the only one who is incredibly bored by all this? Are these signings supposed to get me all excited for the new season? Cos they sure as hell aren't doing.

It matters not a jot who we sign whilst we have a lying drunk running the club who couldn't run a bath never mind a promotion challenge. Anyone who thinks Kean is capable of anything more than miserable failure clearly hasn't been watching these last 18 months. The guy is mathematically the worst manager to darken the door of this football club. Just how is he going to turn a 20% win record into promotion from the Championship?

Lets wait and see the full extent of the exodus first before we judge the summer's business. We've signed two 35 year olds for free, replaced Yakubu (15+ premier league goals) with Leon Best (one goal in four at most) and signed a young Portuguese lad nobody has ever seen play.

The side we had last season was more than good enough to stay in the Premier League. It was the tactical ineptitude of the manager that dragged us down. It will be more of the same this season and I'll be amazed if we even make the top half of the table.

And all the happy clappers on here saying lets 'get behind the boys' and 'support the club' - how gullible can you be?

You're falling into the trap that Kean has set. A couple of quick signings to win over a portion of the doubters. We're past the point of giving out more chances. Kean is a failure and a disgusting individual who has dragged this club down to his level over the last 18 months. True Rovers supporters will never accept him or anybody who supports him. That includes the Rovers hater Murphy, his old mate Best and his cronies Agnew and Shaw, who make me sick to the pit of my stomach. All Kean will be getting from me is the abuse he has earnt and which he cannot hide away from.

Kean can sack the board and sell all the players. He can't sack me. I can keep going as long as I want to to fight to get him out the door. I was here before him and I will be here after him, but I'm certainly not going to make life easy for him by clapping along to his woeful regime.

Martin Olsson is a left back, that has always been his position and his position with the Sweden National Team. If Olsson leaves then you replace him with a left back - not a left winger ie someone who can predominantly defend but who can also support an attack. Hoilett was being used as a strike partner for Yakubu more often than not last season. Have you ever played the game or are you Steve Kean in disguise??

Why would it be an indicator for Martin Olsson leaving when he is a left back defender and MGP and this new guy are both attacking wingers? Would they not be signing a left back if that was the case. Please explain your logic.....

Keans idea of the future involves steve kean... no one else. Some of our recent buys have been excellent, but not down to kean. no true Rover supporter or, Blackburner will be able to trust or have faith in someone who could not care less about the team he manages. He is here simply because he could not get a job as a manager anywhere else, you can almost hear the squeals as his finger nails drag down the blackboard of football management, just hoping that nobody notices his lack of ability. I really cannot understand how he has the brass neck to stand on that pitch knowing how much he is hated. If the venkys had any idea at all about local feeling, Kean would have gone months ago. Even Bob diamond could not fool all of the people all of the time!

Sorry STF, but excuses is all there is to Kean. Last season he was way out of his depth, and to be honest that was with a squad worthy of a mid table finish. Getting out of championship with an untried team will be like climbing Everest with one leg... The bottom line is that even if Kean was the best coach in the world, he is not and never will be a manager... And as for integrity????

Just a thought didn't Givet state that he would stay if we went down? Why is it quiet concerning Dann? Will he stay? I hope they dont do a Colind Hendry and leave us right before the season starts without a replacement.
The fact is at this time we are certain Ollson,Robinson and Hoilett will follow the Yak out of Ewood does that mean Ollson's brother will stay here and all we need is a new left back in place of M Ollson and Hoilett?

People seem very excited especially if they are managing our club but when you analyse the situation it does not look good at all in fact unless they buy a really decent couple of defenders and a right winger we will be lucky to win the odd game.

wouldn't read too much into the "mass exodus" scare-mongering.

Yak is gone, Hoillett, Nzonzi, Olsson to follow and maybe Formica. We've dropped into the Championship, losing five or so players is more than expected, and pretty good compared to what past teams have lost.

I don't understand how certain people on here who claim to be life long supporters, do not seem to understand how PR works and why managers always deny the worst case scenario. Wenger says RVP wont leave - of course he has to say that. Keanadonna says Hoillett wont leave, we'll keep all our best players. No manager in the life of football is ever going to say "Yes, we expect half the team to bolt for the door". That's the way it works, its not about honesty or dishonesty.

That said, our signings whilst sorely lacking in defensive players yet again, are impressive for the championships and are not finished yet. There are at least another THREE or so signings (some defensive ones hopefully) to be announced - and that's excluding Silva. If these materialise, then we have a **** good squad going into the next season - and as Stick to Football said above, if Kean can't make it work with that squad, his failings will be his own and his alone, and the way things are shaping at the moment - action to replace him should be swift and decisive.

There are some very good teams and managers in the Championship. We know Kean has lost the dressing room. It's going to be a tough season unless he leaves. HHHH

Robinson was put up for sale apparently. Good luck to you Robbo, but i think Bunn will be much more than just be an acceptable replacement.

We all know how PR works. The statements from Venkys and Fester have gone way beyond that, insulting, condescending and typically lies.
I am a life long fan and whenever I see Fester's smug face I am filled with rage and frustration.
We were a gem, an over acheiving fantastically run small club in the big league. My expectations were modest as most Rovers fans were. Stay in the division, have a couple of cup runs, give the big boys the odd spanking.
Look at what his greed, corruption, lies and incompetence have brought us. We are a joke. The signings so far show little intent to return to the Prem as far as I can see. Look at West Ham, they retained their squad and got a new manager.
Away games only for me. As i have said before those renewing their tickets should gain a free "I take it up the a+s+ from Kean" T-shirt.
They are laughing at you.

It sounds like you are a real pro smellthecoffee. Martin Olsson plays at left-back but he is a sh1t one - just like Lowe playing at right back. Hence contributing to our cr@p defensive record and, in Olsson's case, one reason why England beat Sweden. Defenders are stoppers first and glory boys second.
*
Playing players out of position is the first sign a manager doesn't know what he is doing - or he wants to play his mates / son.
*
How many times did Hoillet purposefully play right up alongside Yakubu? Not many, if at all. Hoilett's speciality was playing on the left and busting a gut to get on to his right foot to have a shot. Predicatable. (He scored with his left once?) A decent defender would snuff Toilet out no problem - whereas Lowe would run alongside him until he shot and Olsson would be stood near his own 6-yard box like a plank.
*
You might have played football smellthecoffee but it takes more than athletic young lads with little nous or desire to be a decent footballer.

To be honest, didn't Steve Kean like to play players out of position constantly due to the fact that we had lots of injuries last season, his tactics, sent out teams game in game out with quite alot of players out of position. Well I can only see a large injury list 5-10 games in with untested young players and very old players...!

Sorry, but all the finest support in the world will not outrightly win matches.
Its the man at the helm who is the one major inflence upon the outcome. Secondly, its the squad at his disposal.
In terms of relative 'influence', the support comes a hell of a long way down on that score.

The apath is totally due to our man at the helm and his ineptitude.

There is no suggestion that this season will be any different than the last, but being a fair man, I shall just say let's wait and see (has he learnt anything?).

The reason Rovers failed so miserably last season was the way Kean set the side up with no protection for the defence from mid field. Has the signing of Danny Murphy or any others to date addressed this problem. I dont think so. Fully expect keans normal service to be resumed unless he signs a proper defensive mid field player to sit in front of the back four and protect it with his life.

I was excited last year when we finally brought in Rochina .Goodwillie,Formica, Petrovic Vuk--- etc etc but it soon turned to disappointment when I saw how lightweight they all were it was lucky we got Yak two hours before the deadline or we would have been relegated at Christmas.

Just shows Kean does not know a decent footballer so dont get excited about these Portugese guys they are just cheap imports.
